    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I just recieved a beautiful, healthy partially striped '02 coastal from Michael. His service is outstanding and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a coastal. I know he still has some for sale on KS. He put up with all my questions, and just is an all around honest, nice guy.

OH YEAH

I did a trade with Michael recently.

Everything went great, also highly recommended by myself to all as an honest guy who makes doing a trade easy and a pleasure!

A good guy through and through!

Just about 5 minutes ago I popped the box on a pair of 66% het Albino Ball Pythons from Michael Pennell MPenn. They were packed incredibly well, warm and active as soon as I open the box. They are setup now and exploring their enclosures.

I couldn't be happier with these guys and I will definitely keep an eye out for other great offerings from Python in a Pear Tree. I highly reccomen Michael, he's a great breeder and service man.

He even adjusted his schedule to work with the upcoming colder temps and got the snakes out to me very quickly. I can't say enough good about this deal.

Can't go wrong...

with Michael. Michael has been a vendor at my Expos for years and someone I considered a friend before that. Don't hestate to buy from him. He is one of the good guys. :bow01:

Michael is a great person awesome breeder and I am honored to call him our friend...He is a Man of his word..keep up the awesome work Michael... :thumbsup:

I have not had much occasion to post here before, but I wanted to put in another positive recommendation for Michael. I purchased a juvenile Antaresia childreni from him at the Austin herp expo; the snake is beautiful, healthy, and feeding with no problems on frozen/thawed pinkies. Michael was very friendly and professional at the show and he has kept up an occasional e-mail correspondence with me, even though the purchase I made from him was relatively minor. If you're looking for an animal and he has it, buy it from him.

Michael is a great guy.

Just spent this past weekend with he and his girls at the Austin Reptile Expo.

Had a great time and went out to dinner with them as well.

Can't go wrong doing business with him.

I got a Red Male Coastal Carpet Python from Mike in Oct.

Was packed excellent, service was outstanding and he gave me time to hold and pay for the snake.

He is an excellent feeder and is very healthy.

MIKE ROCKS!!

What else can I say/add about Micheal Pennell, He is FOR SURE one of the good guys, I have purchased from him in the past and look forward to doing so again, wish there where more breeders like him, he produces some TOP NOTCH specimens, I have been VERY happy with my purchases....I HIGHLY recomend him to ANYONE.... :thumbsup:

Great guy!

I recently picked up a Chlidrens Python from Michael and it is doing great. All his snakes are top notch, I have seen tons of babies he has had for sale at local shows for several years now and if you're looking for any Pythons I highly recommend contacting him. He is a great guy with killer animals.

Just wanted to add in my own experience with Michael Pennell. Michael was kind enough to assist with shipping 5 snakes for a friend of mine to me as his experience with cold weather shipping was greater than hers. He did a fantastic job, the snakes came in beautifully and safely packed. Every one of them was warm, went into their tubs with ease, settled in immediately and showed no obvious stress from shipping.

It's very nice to see when a more experienced person steps up to help and does it for the benefit of the snakes. Thanks again Michael!

I want to thank everyone for the kind words. They are very much appreciated!

To Tim Cole, Steve Hammack, Tom Stevens, Lynn Hendricks, and Dave Kendrick: Your friendships are truly special and something I will always cherish.
