    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

We are currently fostering a 4 foot Mexican boa for a rescue.
He is a very special case and needs an experienced
Boa owner to care for him. He is in perfect health to our knowledge.
He can be a pet with special handling , his temper is unpredictable.
He may do well for a breeder. We have had him 45 days and he feeds well on large rats, sheds in one piece. The Adoption fee is 50.00, if you are interesting in providing a home for this neglected, abandoned Boa. Please email me.

[email protected], or [email protected]

his pictures can be found on our website gallery under the name Gomez.

Thank you

Not for nothing but the pictures of people and kids free-handling waglers vipers and putting them around their necks and on their head is about the dumbest thing you can post on a public website. That DANGEROUS practice should NOT be promoted.
That sends the WRONG message to anyone who looks at your site. It doesn't matter what temple they are in. It is dangerous.

This guy needs his head examined. Letting his kids put them on their heads. Dumb move.

These other guys are too bright either.

If you bothered to read instead of looking at the pictures, you might discover you just made a fool of yourself.

How!
I did read it. I do not care if there has never been a bite. You do not freehandle hots and for a place to post those pictures that deals with rescues is inexcuseable.

This blurb does not remove the fact that you are posting pictures that promote a very dangerous practice.

Below are photos of visitors to the famous Snake Temple in Penang, Malaysia. These photos are not of us, nor of anyone we know. We also do not freehandle venomous reptiles, nor do we recommend doing so. I simply found it interesting that the vipers that inhabit this temple are so docile. If these photos are of you, or someone you know, and you would like them removed please contact me and I will be happy to do so.

Nothing of the sort, email me off the list, since this is clearly not the forum for it, those pictures where found on a public website, there are pictures of people in the temple I don't recommend children purchase Hots and put them on there heads, if you want to go to that temple where it is allowed go for it. You are a HOT head, nobody promotes unsafe practices of hots. My website is free to view, I don't sell or breed anything. Get a life!!

You deal with rescues. You know there is misinformation out there about how to care for reptiles. Those types of pictures send the wrong message no matter what blurb you write next to them. Anything like that can be misinterpreted. This hobby has enough problems.

I would expect better from an organization that deals with rescues.

We are not an organization, we 2 people that volunteer to foster 1 maybe 2 reptiles. You have flammed me way over the top, because your interpretation of my website.
You have the right to your opinions, I don't agree with your opinion.

You see TV all the time with murders, action adventure I don't recommend you shot people with guns either, but I sure watch TV. People are responsible for their own actions and must account for them, if someone thinks they should put a venomous snake on a child's head, it is has stupid has thinking you can shoot people with guns.

I have a private collection of pets, I posted honestly about a boa I would like to find a home for. Nobody told you to look at the Hot section and give your public opinion.

I will say it again, and for the last time This is not the forum for your debates, I will report you to the moderator.

This thread is getting way off topic, this is not the place to debate this. Lets get it back on topic please.

Sorry about all that, I felt the need to defend myself against this attack.

We have had several emails on this Boa and has of 12-13-06, he is still available. We may have someone come get him this weekend but, if your still interested please email us. FYI we don't ship, he can be picked up in Houston, Texas. He has been sexed and is a male. We foster one or two reptiles at a time for Recsue Agencies and the agency that this boa came from has a no ship policy. The adoption will be donated back to the Agency. We supply the habitat, feeders and care until a good home can be found.

That should have read Adoption fee will be donated back to the rescue agency. LOL, my typonise needs some proofing.

I am so happy to say Gomez has found a loving home with a knowledgable Boa keeper.

I would like to say Thank you to all those wonderful people who emailed me and offered to give challenging fellow a second chance.
