    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Was wondering how many people have been successful late season breeding? Cooling and successful locks around this time of year. Reason I ask is i just picked up a pair of size and i was wondering if i still have a chance at a clutch? If all else fails there going to be more than ready next season! Any tips tricks personal experience would be appreciated.
thanks
Kyle

Give it a try...

I don't really have a set time period in which I don't introduce males to females. Give it a try, it can't hurt anything. If they do the deed, great. If not, no big deal. I've had under size females, hit weight and "plumpness" in summer. They went on to breed that summer. Nothing top secret about it.

I have been breeding since January with no clutches yet but a few ovulations and follicles developing. I'll keep breeding until they all have laid or the males have had enough. I had my first clutch of 2011 in the beginning of April and my last clutch at the end of October so I believe you have plenty of time. Pair them up and see what happens! Good luck! :)

Thanks guys! At this point is cooling even worth it ill probably just put them together and cross my fingers

Agreed.

I agree with Joe, just go for it without "cooling". Same thing, I've had females breed successfully in the dead of summer too. Good luck!

really excited about it should have them thursday, probably give them a week or two to settle in then ill throw them together.

Almost forgot. There is one secret to success... make sure you actually have a male and female. :yesnod:

Picked up a Mojave Male and 1600g proven female. Something to keep me busy while i wait for my other two females to raise up a BEL "Butter Mojave" at 450g who im currently trying to switch to f/t pain in the ass! and spinner who is around 300g. Ill throw some pics up when i get them.

Yah, nothing like supposed locking snakes that turn out to be the same sex, oops!

Picked up a male mojave in a collection purchase. I tried to sell the thing for a while since I have BELs. The thing keep eating like a horse! Finally probed it and turned out I was now sitting on a 2000g female. Score!!

My luck is just the opposite, but just this once I totally lucked out. Really glad no one wanted to buy my "male" mojave. She is pregnant with hopefully some Mochis right now. Fingers crossed.

I dont really cool,my breeding is just starting to pick up just breed till they lay once a month is good.

Yeah you lucked out! I don't trust anyone anymore when it comes to the sex of a snake. I've picked up many snakes at shows that I wanted to buy and found out the seller had no idea how to pop or probe their snakes! I guess that could be a good or bad thing. Lol

I've heard of the locking position between males too. I have never seen it before.

Any time I put 2 mature males together it turns into "Clash of the Titans" in the cage. My kids get a kick out of battling males... me too. We only let them do it for a minute or two and send them on their breeding way.

Last season, I had a breeder male go until mid july before he stopped locking. It was killer. Just put them together. If it happens, it happens. Hopefully you get some this season!!!

Great input! You got real lucky Robert! Congrats on that one! I would be very disappointed if I was sold the wrong sex snake unless it was a female in most cases of-course. Everyone can use another female.
