Buyer Beware!
I recently made a purchase of 2 Dumeril monitors and 1 water monitor from John Paul Moore. Now over a month after sending payment via paypal I have yet to receive the monitors and am no longer getting any email replies from John nor will he answer my phone calls or return voicemail messages. I think it’s obvious by the communication below and the lack of action on John’s part, that the monitors are not going to find their way to me.
The deal to buy these monitors took several weeks to complete and I had thought I had done my research.

Haha at least you looked further. That John Moore from Moore Snakes has really been a thorn in my side. I've since cleared it up but theres still those who might not look into it as far as you did. Correct one female is unproven. I've seen him court her but she has yet to come up gravid. I was told they were CB as the guy Shawn Potts who received his original stock from Dan Turner claims these are of his offspring which I have no reason to believe other wise and I know Dan Turner of Tarpit reptiles is great at breeding monitors. I'd really like to get $250.00 for them I paid almost as much a piece for them. We also REALLY need the money for the move, and the baby. I do gurantee live arrival for overnight delivery. And I will ship through whoever you want I have all options here in Melbourne. UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and USPS. (I dont gurantee them through USPS). And money orders are more than fine. Just as long as its soon because we are moving to NY in mid August. And I know snail mail can take up to a week.
Also congrats on the newborn. I cant wait and its look like he's going to go over a week late haha. Driving me crazy waiting. Cant wait to see him.

Haha you're not kidding eating that much every 2 hours. Thats more than I eat in 2 days haha. He's a decent sleeper so far. Hope he stays that way. The Water monitor is believed to be female but myself, the breeder, and the refuge. They decided that they didnt need another mouth to feed. Since I already sold him once to ask for much more money would be wrong in my oppinion. As a baby she had her one hand nipped so its missing but doesnt effect her at all she is still the fasted monitor I own and eats anything you offer. So I'll take an offer, whatever you think is fair. Truthfully you seem very nice, and have been patient with my situation and I think they'll all have good homes with you so whatever you can afford is fine. Shes almost 3 ft long and friendly.

Well like I said I already got 150.00 for her once haha so I don't really care to get that for her again and Its truthfully been years since I've shipped this many large animals so I don't know exactly what shipping is going to cost. So just as long as it'll be enough to cover the difference in adding another 3 ft monitor to a box so if you have any clue throw a number out there haha.

50 would be fine. That's what I was thinking because I'm sure thats going to be around the difference of adding another almost 3 ft monitor to a box. We're leaving Florida on the 13th so I'm not sure how you were planning on paying or anything. I know you said you had a problem with your truck so I didnt know if you meant this thursday or next. For John, time was an issue because he claimed to be moving from Florida to New York (I say claimed because in his 9/3/09 post, 2 weeks after the “move” he refers to Florida and offers pick up/delivery of the animals posted in Central Florida. Seems like quite a drive to deliver some animals.) I preferred to meet and pick up the monitors on his way to New York, no matter his travel route.

Yes we are driving up I95 but due to the amount of family we are having go with us to drive the uhaul and a couple of our vehicles I dont want to ask them to do too many stops as I'm already stopping in South Carolina to drop off my boaphile cages. They're both doing great. Thanks for asking. Just went for the one week checkup today and they said he'd lose weight the first week and instead he gained 7 oz's haha. he eats like a pig. So the doctor now expects us to put that kind of weight on him every week which with the way he wants food shouldnt be tough. I dont know where we're stopping yet the guy hasn't given me an exit number yet which is getting irritating because I'm trying to plan what time we leave so I can meet him at a reasonable hour. The way he's going I may just end up meeting him around 1 am haha. Unfortunatly we're not leaving Florida untill around 6 or 7 PM so we wont be in SC untill pretty late at night/early AM. Since you were patient and I really do need to get rid of these guys because I have absolutely no where to keep them in NY. Dont really expect her family to let us house 3 dogs a bird a rabbit and 7 reptiles. They're nice but not insane haha. So if you want them shipped I will do them for $270.00 shipped so I'll cover 60% of the shipping. And the refuge I sold my water monitor to because they wanted him for display decided they wouldnt have a big enough area so he ended dropping him back off here after a month so now shes a lot bigger haha so now I've got another monitor I need to find a home for again. Well let me know what you want to do.

The guy hasnt gotten ahold of me yet. however the I-26 exit leads to I-26 in Aiken which is right parallel to Sumter. So the exit may be right near Sumter. I'll keep you updated also please let me know if the paypal thing would work because if so like I said I could ship them out Thursday night and that way it'd work out perfect.

He is supposed to be contacting his brother who is a truck driver and he will be meeting me right off I95 off the I26 exit. So I guess I'll be sign watching through South carolina haha. Through telephone conversations the delivery option was not going to work out for John so we agreed to ship on August 12th and I sent the money via paypal on August 13th. Shipment was to have been on the 13th, the day John was to be “moving”. The plan was that I would receive the monitors on the 14th. I received no tracking number and of course was not too pleased when the monitors did not arrive on the 14th.

Mark I'm SOOOO sorry I tried to ship out at 5 and fedex came early to the local station and my phone is a metropcs and didnt work out of town so I couldnt get ahold of you. I just got into NY and am shipping them out monday. I fed them so they didnt go a week w/o eating. I'm very sorry but they will be going out monday. I got your message this morning. I tried contacting you via phone Friday when Fed-ex didn't arrive with them. At one point Sprint said that it was disconnected and an hour later it was back in service. When you didn't contact me at all, I wasn't sure what was going on. I would have appreciated you contacting me sooner, collect or something, just to let me know what was going on. I was talking to a few people here at work that have dealt with pay pal and they advised me to contact paypal and see what they say. After talking to them they advised me to file a claim because I could not get ahold of you and that they would try to get ahold of you via the contact info they have on you. They also told me that I could cancel my claim if I got what I ordered. I was also advised to file a claim simply because you could take the money out of the paypal account after 3 days and if I filed a claim after that then all they could do is put a claim on your account and I might not ever get my money back or the package.
I would not have filed this claim, BUT I had no idea what was going on, and after talking to my wife, the guy at paypal and weighing my options I felt like my only choices were 1) take a chance and possibly lose my money and not get the monitors 2) file a claim and at least get my money back or 3) you do send me the monitors and I cancel the claim which is what I prefer. Like I told the guy at paypal all I want is what I paid for and I will cancel the claim once I get the monitors.
I have been honest with you and you have been GREAT until this. Couldn't you have called me Thursday evening when you ran into that problem before you left town Friday morning. Shurely we can work this out some how. You can call me at 706-***-**** or 800-***-**** both are my work number.

Just got your email. What day is good for you? Sorry had to spend the day at WIC and the DMV didnt expect to be gone this long.
After a very brief telephone conversation (I think John accidently answered the phone and in less than a minute the call disconnected) in which I had expressed that I still wanted the monitors. AND THAT WAS IT. 2 WEEKS AFTER PAYMENT WAS MADE AND SHIPMENT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, I RECEIVED THE LAST COMMUNICATION FROM JOHN AND NO MONITORS. Now that I have seen the 9/3 post I am quite angry.
I tried to be really patient and not rush to post a negative comment about this seller. However, I do this now for 2 reasons; 1). If you have suggestion to get my money back please share and 2). to keep other potential buyers from doing business with this individual.

Haha you're not kidding eating that much every 2 hours. Thats more than I eat in 2 days haha. He's a decent sleeper so far. Hope he stays that way. The Water monitor is believed to be female but myself, the breeder, and the refuge. They decided that they didnt need another mouth to feed. Since I already sold him once to ask for much more money would be wrong in my oppinion. As a baby she had her one hand nipped so its missing but doesnt effect her at all she is still the fasted monitor I own and eats anything you offer. So I'll take an offer, whatever you think is fair. Truthfully you seem very nice, and have been patient with my situation and I think they'll all have good homes with you so whatever you can afford is fine. Shes almost 3 ft long and friendly.

Well like I said I already got 150.00 for her once haha so I don't really care to get that for her again and Its truthfully been years since I've shipped this many large animals so I don't know exactly what shipping is going to cost. So just as long as it'll be enough to cover the difference in adding another 3 ft monitor to a box so if you have any clue throw a number out there haha.

50 would be fine. That's what I was thinking because I'm sure thats going to be around the difference of adding another almost 3 ft monitor to a box. We're leaving Florida on the 13th so I'm not sure how you were planning on paying or anything. I know you said you had a problem with your truck so I didnt know if you meant this thursday or next. For John, time was an issue because he claimed to be moving from Florida to New York (I say claimed because in his 9/3/09 post, 2 weeks after the “move” he refers to Florida and offers pick up/delivery of the animals posted in Central Florida. Seems like quite a drive to deliver some animals.) I preferred to meet and pick up the monitors on his way to New York, no matter his travel route.

Yes we are driving up I95 but due to the amount of family we are having go with us to drive the uhaul and a couple of our vehicles I dont want to ask them to do too many stops as I'm already stopping in South Carolina to drop off my boaphile cages. They're both doing great. Thanks for asking. Just went for the one week checkup today and they said he'd lose weight the first week and instead he gained 7 oz's haha. he eats like a pig. So the doctor now expects us to put that kind of weight on him every week which with the way he wants food shouldnt be tough. I dont know where we're stopping yet the guy hasn't given me an exit number yet which is getting irritating because I'm trying to plan what time we leave so I can meet him at a reasonable hour. The way he's going I may just end up meeting him around 1 am haha. Unfortunatly we're not leaving Florida untill around 6 or 7 PM so we wont be in SC untill pretty late at night/early AM. Since you were patient and I really do need to get rid of these guys because I have absolutely no where to keep them in NY. Dont really expect her family to let us house 3 dogs a bird a rabbit and 7 reptiles. They're nice but not insane haha. So if you want them shipped I will do them for $270.00 shipped so I'll cover 60% of the shipping. And the refuge I sold my water monitor to because they wanted him for display decided they wouldnt have a big enough area so he ended dropping him back off here after a month so now shes a lot bigger haha so now I've got another monitor I need to find a home for again. Well let me know what you want to do.

The guy hasnt gotten ahold of me yet. however the I-26 exit leads to I-26 in Aiken which is right parallel to Sumter. So the exit may be right near Sumter. Through telephone conversations the delivery option was not going to work out for John so we agreed to ship on August 12th and I sent the money via paypal on August 13th. Shipment was to have been on the 13th, the day John was to be “moving”. The plan was that I would receive the monitors on the 14th. I received no tracking number and of course was not too pleased when the monitors did not arrive on the 14th.

Mark I'm SOOOO sorry I tried to ship out at 5 and fedex came early to the local station and my phone is a metropcs and didnt work out of town so I couldnt get ahold of you. I just got into NY and am shipping them out monday. I fed them so they didnt go a week w/o eating. I'm very sorry but they will be going out monday. I already have FedEx coming to pick them up at my door from NY at noon. Again I cant appolagize enough I feel terrible. I got your message this morning. I tried contacting you via phone Friday when Fed-ex didn't arrive with them. At one point Sprint said that it was disconnected and an hour later it was back in service. When you didn't contact me at all, I wasn't sure what was going on. I would have appreciated you contacting me sooner, collect or something, just to let me know what was going on. I was talking to a few people here at work that have dealt with pay pal and they advised me to contact paypal and see what they say. After talking to them they advised me to file a claim because I could not get ahold of you and that they would try to get ahold of you via the contact info they have on you. They also told me that I could cancel my claim if I got what I ordered. I was also advised to file a claim simply because you could take the money out of the paypal account after 3 days and if I filed a claim after that then all they could do is put a claim on your account and I might not ever get my money back or the package.
I would not have filed this claim, BUT I had no idea what was going on, and after talking to my wife, the guy at paypal and weighing my options I felt like my only choices were 1) take a chance and possibly lose my money and not get the monitors 2) file a claim and at least get my money back or 3) you do send me the monitors and I cancel the claim which is what I prefer. Like I told the guy at paypal all I want is what I paid for and I will cancel the claim once I get the monitors.
I have been honest with you and you have been GREAT until this. Couldn't you have called me Thursday evening when you ran into that problem before you left town Friday morning. Shurely we can work this out some how. You can call me at 706-***-**** or 800-***-**** both are my work number.

Just got your email. What day is good for you? Sorry had to spend the day at WIC and the DMV didnt expect to be gone this long.
After a very brief telephone conversation (I think John accidently answered the phone and in less than a minute the call disconnected) in which I had expressed that I still wanted the monitors. AND THAT WAS IT. 2 WEEKS AFTER PAYMENT WAS MADE AND SHIPMENT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, I RECEIVED THE LAST COMMUNICATION FROM JOHN AND NO MONITORS. Now that I have seen the 9/3 post I am quite angry.
I tried to be really patient and not rush to post a negative comment about this seller. However, I do this now for 2 reasons; 1). If you have suggestion to get my money back please share and 2). to keep other potential buyers from doing business with this individual.
