    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Jesse Underhill/JJ's Reptiles has now actually refunded $500 of the total $800 he owes me so far.  As far as I know, he's also not selling reptiles anymore.  It looks like he's making good on his word, finally.

Hooray for April.
I am happy for you.

just be careful  that he does not come back with his fake albino surinam.
But I think that the reptile world is now aware of him.
So we should be safe.

We own a Pet Store in Rochester,Mn He been selling us reptiles for over 10 years now. With no problem's at all.My husband purchased a pair of his het balls last year 1/24/01 they were adults very nice looking ball pythons we had 5 eggs produced from them two are albino and three normal looking babies they were born 3/06/02 my husband was very happy.I'm not some reptile crazy person my thing is fish. When we went to pick up the ball python he had two pairs of them all adults he saved.I have read all of the post and I think April got the other pair of het He didn't have much for ball pythons just some albino's and normal looking ones and some weird looking ones that had big white patches on it.What ever that was I was looking at his saltwater tank.He does have alot of Boa Constristors cage after cage of them.We have been buying from the wholesaler in the Cities to supply us of reptiles. For the people who don't know he was burglarized almost everything he had was stolen. It was in the local paper here over 200 animals stolen. The last we heard of it they have two people in custody. We're going to Austin this weekend to a show(home and vacation) We may stop by his place to tell him the good news on my husband baby ball pythons. My husband jsut told jesse is still selling them but he is builting back up his collection.Jenny

Nice, but you're a bit early for April Fool's Day.

Please furnish the following:

1) Your full name, as required by the rules of this site.
2) The name of your store, as well as its contact info.
3) The name of the newspaper that ran the story about Jesse's alleged theft, because I've already gone through the archives of the newspapers servicing both Rochester and Austin. Interestingly enough, not only is there no record of the thefts in the newspapers, the Austin PD is rather dumbfounded about this alleged incident as well.

My honest impression if you couldn't already tell... I susprct that this is either the confirmed theif Jesse Underhill, or one of his cohorts in crime posting.

Ball Pythons w/big white patches???WOW an albino surinam AND $20,000 pied balls!!!! And his wife got mad at him for buying the boa I sold him for $130.00. I don't think so... Casey

Sorry didn't know .
Jenny Robertson we own Fish and Critters 507-282-0798 There was no big story on the theif just a post on the police report page. Here if your reptile gets out or taken here in rochester they don't care you never hear anything about it anymore you call and they just tell you they have someone on it.My brother is a Cop and he told me they just file it away. I have seen his wife and she is not all there if you know what I mean. She goes crazy and start hitting him for no reason . Mr Underhill said she on Medication for it.I remember last year we purchased some panther chameleons from him.He came back the next day for one of them it was one his wife wanted so he purchased it back he said if he did come back with it she was going to kill every damn reptile he had and then throw his stuff outside.Once we went out to eat at the Timber lodge and she throw her plate of food at the waitress and started freaking out.I don't know why he don't just leave her.I see when someone post about someone everyone start saying crap about them. This is the first time we have even seen this site or any other one .We are new to the buy and selling of animals across the internet. To tell you the truth I'm really scared about even trying to buy anything on here. From some of the things I have read about sick reptiles and people getting ripped off.Think your better off just not doing it.Jenny

Jenny, I dont know anything about the Jesse Underhill thing. Dont let this site turn you off from doing transactions on the web.

If you look at the number of complaints on here versus the number of transactions on the Web. It is very miniscule. I have never been ripped off and have done many transactions.

The purpose of this site is to get references on people and report people in case you get ripped off. That way it doesnt happen to others.

Things to make sure it doesnt happen to you. Talk on the phone. Get Pictures with a date stamp. Get a full name with an address. Ask them for references. And follow up on those references. If you worried about bogus references get more than five.

Best of Luck
James Baiz

Jenny,
I have a slight problem with your post.  See I live in Red Wing MN.  Not to far from Rochester, and one of my best friends sons is dying at the Mayo Clinic as we speak.  Well I told him about your store, because he is a HUGE reptile enthusiast and he tried to find you in a phone book, and 411 did him no good either.  So here is my question.  Whats going on?
Antonio Napoli

Interestingly enough, there is no listing whatsoever in any telephone directory for "Fish and Critters" in Rochester, or anywhere nearby. Just to confirm, I called directory assistance. No big surprise that they didn't have it listed either. Even less surprising was the results of their looking up the number 507/282-0798... private number.

As I have said before, the Austin PD, whom I have contacted by phone and email have no knowledge of the alleged theft of 200 snakes worth six figures. In a town of only 22,000, such a big heist would be garnered with attention.

I don't doubt that Jesse had some ball pythons with white patches on them. They were likely wild-caught balls with whit-out dumped on them. Time and again, Jesse Underhill has demonstrated himself to be a liar and a thief.

The bad english skills sound way too familiar.  This is either Jesse or a friend posting. I wasn't even saying anything bad - just updating people to let them know that you are actually paying me back.  I just recieved another $100, so he's down to $200 now.  I really don't think that after all that has happened people will believe that Jesse (or "Jenny" now) is an honest breeder.  It doesn't matter how many "friends" post on here.  Eric Russell is still also owed money.  I don't want to go through the whole story again now that the old board is gone, but if anyone doesn't know and is thinking of dealing with him, please email me first.  There are other people on this board that can back everything up.   <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

There is, however, a "Fisn-N-Pets" In Rochester, MN with a completely different phone #.  It's none of my business, but all I had to do was a search on anywho.com using the word "fish" with the correct city and state.

Just to summarize, since a few people have missed the Jesse saga...

Jesse Undderhill, a legend in his own mind, was caught in a few scams. He has a penchant for misrepresenting animals that he sells, in addition to entangling himself in a web of lies & deceit.

He has attempted to defraud people such as April and Eric. I'll let them explain the details, if they wish, since it is a long story.

He has stolen the intellectual property of both Jeff Ronne and Ralph Davis, and then actually thought he could get away with passing it off as his own. We now know that the pics of Jesse's snake cages were actually vidcaps from Jeff's video. We also know that he stole pictures from Ralph Davis and represented them as his own animals.

He claimed to have an albino Suriname redtail boa, which he imported from a company in Peru. Now, there's two problems with this story...1) there is only one albino Suri in the US at this point in time, and 2) to the best of my knowledge, Peru is closed to exports.

For someone with the ability to throw money around in the way that he claims he did, he sure does act like someone who's broke. I find it hard to believe that someone who has the money to purchase an albino Suri, piebald balls, etc, can't afford a digital camera to take pics of them. I also find it hard to believe that someone with such a substantial income as Jesse alleged he had is unable to pay an $800 debt in a timely manner.

When all of his lies came back to haunt him, Jesse's snakes were mysteriously "stolen" by an ex-partner who's name kept changing with each incarnation of the story. This same mysterious ex-partner was also the person that Jesse blamed 100% of his scams on, saying that they all happened without his knowledge.

Now I find it intriguing that someone who claims she is not into reptiles has just happened accross this site, and just happened to dig up a post that was buried a page or two back, to extoll the virtues of Jesse. Even more intriguing is that she claims to own a pet store for which there is no record of, and has given a phone number for the store that is unlisted.

The claim of the story of the theft being in the newspaper is dubious, as I have checked with the Post-Bulletin in Rochester, as well as the Austin Daily Herald...neither one ran any kind of snippet about any snake being stolen.

I have also checked with the Austin PD. No record of any such theft- go figure!

Just checked with one of my friends in Rochester.  No Fish and Critters.  She is an animal nut and knows and visits every pet store she can.  Of course, the fact that it doesn't exist as a business and the number doesn't show any listings when using www.whitepages.com should be enough.  Busted again?  I guess so...

I can post the dealings I had if anyone isn't aware of the situation and would like me to.

Ah what the heck. I'd go ahead and let everyone know what happened April, especially since we have some newcomers to the forum. Besides, I'd rather read about Jesse than the tiresome Bill Cagle/SDV IBD threads. The comedy of J's futile lies are a bit more entertaining than the soap opera that we've been subjected to these past several days, wouldn't you agree?

You would think that by now, Jesse would have given up his little game of deception, but he keeps on digging himself deeper & deeper. "Oh what a tangled web we weave..."

1.  No offense.  But your grammar reminds me of Jesse's grammar.

2.  You say you have been buying reptiles from Jesse for 10 years.  What have you been buying?  Because he had his first batch in 2001.

3.  You say he had albino ball pythons and "ones with white patches on them" (piebalds).  If he had the money to buy such animals.....including the none existent albino surinam....why does he need to steal people's pictures and represent them as his own?

4.  If he had thousands of dollars to spend on animals.....
why steal pictures and say they were his.
why free e-mails
why free websites
why does it take so long to payback several hundred dollars
why no digital camera.

5.  If he had het boas that were having albino babies......why did he waste his time taking pictures of normal ones?

1.  Talks Like Jesse
2.  Spells like Jesse
3.  Can't get story straight like Jesse

you be the judge.

1. You say If a reptile gets lost or stolen "you never hear anything about it"  then why is it in the paper?
2. You say "my brother is a cop and "they just file it away"....then why is it in the paper?

Alright, I have seen other postings regarding Jesse Underhill, but what do Rochester and Austin have to do with this?  I frequent both cities fairly often, and I do not recall the pet store mentioned in Rochester.  Where is Jesse supposedly located?  I missed something somewhere...

Jese is located in Austin. The "owner" of the ficticious pet store in Rochester came here extolling Jesse's virtues. Sadly (but in an amusing sort of way), this just turned out to be aanother in the series of deceptions that is the Jesse Underhill legacy.

Short short version (if you want to call it that...):
I bought 2 proven 'het for albino' balls from Jesse for $800 Friday, Sept 21.  When I was setting up the deal over the internet, I told him to bring an an albino so I'd have proof that he actually bred them.  He said that he sold them all, but could email some pics he took of them.  I recieved the pics and thought that he was telling the truth. Since I live in Minneapolis, I told him I would like to pick them up.  He didn't want me coming to his house, supposedly because he had too many high end animals and didn't want anyone breaking in or anything, since he has children. We met halfway.
He conveniently forgot the paperwork when I picked them up (said he would send it out when he got home) and I noticed the female had a lump and her belly had red spots.  He told me that the vet said the lump was a calcium deposit and the red spots were burns.  I also questioned him on their ages.  He claimed that they were 2 & 3 years, but when I asked how they were so big, he said he just fed them a lot. I didn't examine the snakes as well as I should've because he was talking to me and his kids were running around with the snakes. When I got them home, I examined them better.  The male had an RI so I called Jesse and told him.  I said that I would like him to pay half the vet bill, since I felt partially responsible for not examining them better.  He agreed (told me the address to send to would be on the paperwork he sent) and I took both to the vet.  The vet gave me antibiotics for the male but also found out that the lump on the female and the spots on the belly were most likely a fungal infection due to poor conditions.

A few days passed - no paperwork.  I emailed him and asked where it was.  He said he forgot and he would send it out right away.  A few more days - still no paperwork.  A couple more emails, and he gave me excuses every time; friend's snake was having babies, wrote down the wrong address, his dad had a heart attack.  By this time a month went by and I started posting on the BOI and emailing anyone that had contact with him and not just the refs he gave me.  Jeff Ronne told me about how Jesse used pictures from his breeding videotape and claimed they were his setup and snakes.  Eric Russell told me about Jesse not paying him the $135 he owes.  Casey Hulse had bad dealings with him.  Only after I contacted Brian Rogers, one of Jesse's 'pals' and told him the story did I finally recieve the papers.  The birthdates didn't match what he told me and numerous other things came up in this time.

When I finally got a hold of him, I told him I wanted a refund.  He said he would only refund half because I had them so long (still <2 months).  This is when the rest of his animals were 'stolen' because so much had come out about him on the BOI and was waiting for an insurance settlement so he'd have money to pay me back.  I told him I wanted a full refund, since he was the one that didn't send the paperwork.  He said he'd refund $650 because he takes off $100/month for every month I have them.  I told him that he couldn't make up rules like that and they don't decrease in value.  So this went back and forth until he said he'd give me the whole refund and I'd just take responsibility for the vet bill.  Then it took a few weeks to finally get them returned.  He didn't have money, but I had picked up the snakes from Superior and didn't have anywhere to keep them in my apt in Minneapolis and didn't want them sitting in boxes to long.  I agreed to return them with no money if he wrote something up about when he'd pay.  Well, he forgot that too but I couldn't keep the snakes with me.  When I returned them, he told me about how he just lost money getting a sick retic that ended up dying.  Now he says that the female died after I returned her and thinks that I got her sick.  They were never in contact with other snakes - my brother has never owned any and the only snake I have at my place I've had for 5 yrs and never comes in contact with others.  I believe the retic passed the disease (supposedly a retro virus but not IBD) to the others, including the female.

It took a few months and filing a fraud report on him to finally get him to start paying me back.  He said he'd send me the $800 when I threatened to file a lawsuit, then I only recieved $100. I've been accepting $100 payments since.

I also found out the albino pics he sent me were stolen directly of Ralph Davis' website.  If there's anything else I forgot, let me know.  I suppose that there's all the new vehicles he claims to be buying - a new Dodge Durango, a Yukon, and a Harley and how he has too many medical bills to pay people back (even though he can afford that many vehicles) etc.  I've never known someone to BS as much as him, even though he must know on some level that it's not that hard to figure out he's lying.

Whew!  That's enough typing for me!
