Hello all!
As you may or may not remember, I had two unexpected eggs laid by one of my leos a few weeks ago. I set up the incubation conditions exactly as described on Albey's website (http://www.albeysreptiles.com/incubate-eggs.htm), with the only difference being I used a larger (1.1 gallon) Servin Saver tub. I set up the ratio of 1-.8 perlite to water, like instructed. Now here I am three weeks later and the eggs have completely caved in. Is this from lack of moisture? If so, how did that happen, if I followed the directions exactly? I only opened it about 3x since then (for air exchange, noted on the website), and didn't add any water (since the website states you wouldn't need to, that the perlite would hold the necessary moisture).
Any thoughts? I'd like to get this figured out before I start breeding my nicer geckos..I don't want to be inadvertantly killing eggs
