I was cleaning the dubia container today (yeah...it has mites...), and discovered 100+ baby dubias!! cute! And so, I moved the adults to a new container and the babies to a smaller container. Do the babies need the adult's frass to survive? Or can they eat powdered food (cereals, grains and dog food)?
I have 2 roach colonies side by side each other, but only the dubia got mites, the discoids are clean. I now removed the lids completely, and just clipped a laundry net on top. I hope the increased ventilation will take care of the survivor mites.
I also noticed some wing biting with the discoids, I feed them 50% mixed cereal and 50% puppy food. Shall I increase the amount of dog food? Thanks.
