    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

After hours of negotiating seriously hours
Im now the proud owner of

1.0 Pinstripe 100% DBL Het Albino/Pied
&
0.1 Spider 100% DBL Het Albino/Pied

Naturally Im aiming to hit the Pied Albino Spinner with these genetics Who wouldn't right?...

Genetics works in funny ways sometimes... How many of you have worked with 100% hets and have hit the odds right off bat, Or have swung and missed the first second third OMG I finally hit it?

I have a pair of Het Albinos that I have hit an albino with two clutches in a row. One clutch only had 1 good egg the other had 5. I got a pleasant surprise when I was told, after inquiring about an unusual appearance on a couple "normals" from that 5 egg clutch, that there is a line of albino that hatches out visual hets and it appears that this is the line I have and I got two, 1.1 FYI. But I digress. I also have two pair of het pieds and have not hit a pied yet trying for three seasons, *$&% it. Some one else on this forum had gotten a pair of het pieds and tried for, like 6 or seven years before she finally hit the pied. So you are REALLY looking at the long shot. Is what you hope for possible in the first shot? Of course, but not very likely. I am sure I am not telling you anything you don't already know.

If I understand the math correctly, you should have about a 1.5% shot to hit it with what you say you have. But even if you don't hit that chance it should still be very exciting to see what comes out when they start sticking their little heads into the real world.

Good Luck

That it should the combo's that I could produce with these two are nice anyway I go even If I dont hit the Pied Albino Spinner ( Im not counting on it so I wont be that upset if I dont hit it LoL)Personally I think Im going to hit either the Pied or the Albino but not both at the same time presently visable in one offspring.
However Im planning on pairing him with a 100% Pied female I've had for some time but no-one to put her with Im thinking I'm going to hit the Pied on that paring But only time will tell....

its easier to hit on single genetics then trying to hit a super with recessive or double recessive, look at the panda pied 1 in existance 1 in 16 shot to hitif you only have 6 to 8 eggs the odds are not in your favor. good luck

Yeea, but what would have happend if he didn't try? The pandapied wouldn't be around.

not saying not to do it just showing that it is harder to hit, i have a black pastel pied project going for the last three years. i have double het caremel glow i hit on the ghosts and the caremel every year and have missed on the glow for the last four years.

Guess i misunderstood you. My apologies.

Oh I know the odds are going to be hard to hit for the Pied Albino Spinner. Thats why Im thinking Im either going to hit the Pied or either the Albino But not both at the same time.
IMHO its worth a shot either way. If I hit it I hit it If not try again right?

Nothing to be jealous about for now unless I hit the odds of bat Very Doubtfull although Thank You as well

LOL I just try to think positive! :D We have a couple double hets that are almost up to size. We're hoping to hit those odds...

Good luck!

If I hit the odds the first time around Im more than likely going to fall out in shock

ehh, if you don't hit at first, each time(more than likely) you'll be producing more hets to hold back and breed back...it's not a matter of if, but when MmWWwwaAhHhH!!!!:dgrin:

Vey True Jeremy LoL To be completely Honest Personal prefrence Im not really into the Pieds
Im more wanting one of the two Albino Spinner or Albino Spider/Pinstripe ( Now that I said that I'll hit the Pied part no Albino's LoL)
As an Albino Spinner would put me 4 steps ahead of where I need/want to be. The Pied Gene for me would be a bonus Thats not really needed for what Im aiming for
Im Hoping to pick up a Pastel Het Albino Pair ( Female at least) within the next month
Aiming for a Super Pastel Het Albino to breed to the Pinstripe dbl Het Albino/Pied or the Spider dbl het Albino/Pied

If I hit the odds the first time around Im more than likely going to fall out in shock

Just to give everybody a feel for what kind of odds he's talking about, I ran it through genetics wizard (het spider and het pin, in this case mean spider and pin - it just means they aren't homozygous/supers)

*Those percentages are the chance that any given egg has of containing that combination*

Hey Clarence not trying to bring you down but since the Spider Pied pattern only shows up on the head dont you think the same would happen with what your shooting for? I hope Im wrong because that would be an amazing looking animal. Best of luck with your project.

I was wondering about the likelihood of being able to differentiate between spider, pin, and spinner pieds.

Im not sure to be honest...
If It comes out the same as I have it pictured in my little noggin
It would be and Albino Pied
With the markings that appear inside of the Albitism patches of either the pinstripe or spider. both would be reason for my heart attack

Like I stated before I've never been one to fancy the Pieds
Im more aiming to hit An Albino Spider, Albino Pinstripe
An Albino Spinner would be the PERFECT outcome for me at least personally on this pairing

BTW Harald I cant never get the genetic Wizard to work for me
Instead I picture in my head what I want to produce and then I figure out what genes would be involved in producing it and go from there...
Makes out to be a LONGER process but I find it more Interresting that way
