    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

For Sale Female leatherbacks

I was the 1st one to read this ad, as well as the very 1st one to send Jeff Crider an email with my interest in his yellow-marked dragon OVER 4 HOURS AGO, yet he goes ahead and sells it to someone else. And this, knowing that he said the next time he gets another orange leatherback female he would definitely keep me in mind, and knowing also that I've asked him for one several times, and also knowing about my wanted ad looking for one for many months now. Thank you so very much for all of your false promises, Jeff! What a swell guy you are...
 
Dude, seriously, get over it. He is not obligated to hold a dragon for anyone. It doesn't matter if you were the first to see this ad, or the first to send an email. The early bird doesn't always get the worm.
I'd be interested to know how you know for a fact you were the first to see/respond to this ad. Not that it matters...

By the way, Jeff, my little red male I got from you is doing great. Can't wait to see how he turns out when he is older!

wow totally uncalled for and very rude. its hard for people to remember to tell every customer theyve ever talked to that the thing they wanted was in. If everyone did what you did they would look like idiots. :NoNo: And now since you just pulled this little stunt I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff decides to not sell you a dragon. Just :shootfoot bud. nice one.

You placed your ad yesterday at 5:50pm, I contacted you at 6:10pm via email, being the ONLY ONE who viewed your ad (hence a 1 showing in the viewed column), telling you I'm interested and asked who the parents were, you write back telling me who the parents are at 6:30, I emailed you again at 7:00 and left you a voicemail as well telling you I'm interested and not to sell it, got no response for hours, then you email me at 10:00 saying you sold it an hour ago at 9:00. I was waiting to pay for it for hours. Where's the fairness in that? This is coming a guy who told me a couple of weeks ago that the next time he gets another Orange Leatherback Female he would definitely keep me in mind (he never contacted me), he knew I asked him several times in the past for one, and he knew about my wanted ad where I've been looking for one for many months now... He should've just told them that he has someone else who is interested first. All he cared about was someone else could send him the payment faster than me. This is a guy I want to deal with? I hardly think so... When someone screws me over because they don't have a first come, first served fairness policy, or honors his hold policy on his website while I wait several hours for him to respond to me, that's where I draw the line. I'm not going to bash you on the BOI, Jeff, I'm a little more mature than you are. Let the other customers find out how you treat them themselves. I'll take my business with someone else who actually knows how to treat their customers honestly and fairly.
 
Look, Jeff has already told you that if you have a problem, then take it to the BOI.
You'll be told the same thing there that you were here; but, quit cluttering his thread with your junk.

If you want to cry about not getting the dragon John, do to to Jeff via PM, the classifieds is not the place for this.
That goes for those responding to John as well.
