    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I have one female orange/butterscotch hypo she does feed but she is very weird! Explanation she is one strike happy B**ch I do not even like to handle her I do just for sake of I have her and she is a beautiful animal but to get her out she just wants to nail you! As for the feeding part she does the same thing with live mice bites the crap out of them but no go on a lot of occasions?

Why would she strike the mouse repeatedly and not constrict?

She does on occasion do this three or four times then bang constrict dead mouse and she eats it kind of put me in mind of a cat playing with it's food!!
But other times she just strikes and strikes then when bored she moves around the cage as the mouse isn't even there? Then I need to get up the balls to reach in and get the mouse out because I will not leave it in there for more than 1-2 hours and I have to sit and watch I don't leave them unattended. Last night I tried a whacked mouse just to see if she would eat it overnight but this morning still in there and she again was not happy to see me opening her box. I had this mouse in her tub for an hour before I put it down to leave it in over night and nothing! To me this is very strange so please someone call me nuts or whatever just looking for a little input for the wise men of the forum?

Didnt mean to ressurect an old thread but ive got the same situation goin on. Well, first let me talk about my spider. He has eaten live mice for me fine and then took his first f/t from tongs without an issue. But last night he immediately took and wrapped up another f/t from tongs but then didnt eat it. he was slithering all around it but didnt seem like he knew what to do. So after a while, I picked the mouse back up with my tongs and dangled it back in front of him. He missed a strike but then caught the next one and wrapped the mouse up. he ate it that time without a problem. i just though it was weird.

Back to a similar situation to yours. ive got a little het albino female that is very strike happy. She is one pissed off little woman. She has eaten live mice without a problem. But the past two times she is not interested in f/t. Last night i was dangling the f/t in front of her and she just struck the hell out of it without wrapping it up. I figured she was just pissed off and trying to defend herself, not trying to eat. So I left her alone. I will probably try f/t again in a couple days. If that doesnt work, ill probaly dangle a live one in front of her, followed by f/t again for the next feeding.

Mine is still doing it not as bad he is gradually coming around is a lot more handleable that he/she was. With the crankiness this guy had I cant believe I didn't get nailed but he's come a long way. I don't know if this will help or not but there is no way mine will even look at a f/t but it has a heart beat he whacks it. Almost everything else I have is switched to f/t this guy is on rats now and I haven't had any problems as of late but I'm breeding my own and have size appropriate food I know that's not always easy but I would try a rat of some sort might work. I will be giving mine a couple more of the rat pup meals he seems to love so much and then trying the f/t pup. Try to keep me up to date and I will do the same!

I cant belive that nobody else has ever responded to this as I thought it pretty interesting maybe it just got missed anybody care to leave some input?

I would be very happy if all I had to do was dump f/t in the cage and they would be gone in the morning. As it is I only have two that are so wonderful. The other eight are on f/t , but they need a little more encouragement.

My pastel male used to nail anything I dropped in but has been a little more picky of late.

Count your blessings and pray for more of the same. BTW congrats on your snake starting to eat. I know the feeling when your animals won't eat. IT SUCKS.

yeah its a very relieving feeling that she is eating better now. She needs to start gaining some weight!

On the other hand, I have a pastel female from 08 that is growing like a weed and eats great for me. I cherish snakes like that.
