    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

i plan to breed within the upcoming months.

BUT, the only thing i honestly don't know about is the incubator setup :shrug01:

i plan to use a styrofoam cooler as i have seen breeders do.
i just don't know how to set it up and what things i need and where to set it up at, etc.

this will be my 1st clutch obviously, but i've worked with pythons for a while now, i just haven't got down the incubator setup.

can y'all help me please?
this will be GREATLY appreciated! :thumbsup:

Incubator

I made mine out of a wine cooler. Just unscrewed the racks, turned them into shelves, and installed a heating element and computer fan. The heating element I got at this link http://www.randallburkey.com/prodinfo.asp?number=3015 and it was easy to hook up. Drill a few holes, buy some cords from the local hardware store, wire nuts and tape and your good to go. Trust me I am not a handyman and this was my very first time attempting this but it couldn't have went smoother. Get a broken fridge or wine cooler, the heating element, and the cords and hardware, you'll have a grade a incubator you can use for years.

Here's a nice one I found online

http://www.slideshare.net/mkgiver/the-ultimate-incubator-5

I built one out of a large cooler from walmart. Added heat tape on the sides, some water bottles in the bottom as a heat holding device, Thermometer probe and Thermostat probe. I've used it for 4 seasons now with great results. I'm putting one together made from a pepsi fridge since my coolerbator is full.

i noticed you said you plan to breed in the next couple months. you wouuld have a better chance if you wait at this point until the fall usually once the heat starts rolling in the females will reabsorb an follicles they have produced and the males are usually not interested.i tried later in the season one year and did not work out. your better off to wait and put more size on the female. good luck in what ever you do.

"coolerbator" - I love it!

I'm planning on doing mine from scratch, too. I'm making a big one (4' x 1.5' x 1.5') out of styrofoam so it will fit under my baby rack....

Anyway, it's basically along the same lines as everyone else is saying. I'll be using 1.5 inch foam insulation from Home Depot/Lowes and basically making a big box out of it. I'm going to run 11 inch Flexwatt down the middle, lengthwise, and put 20 oz bottles of water all along the bottom (on top of the heat tape). Water has the ability to retain heat very well (due to the structure of the molecule), so the water bottles will help keep the temperatures stable even if the outside temperatures are fluctuating rapidly. A "shelf" of foam will go above that, and I'll put the clutches on top. I also plan on installing two computer fans--one on each side of the incubator--to circulate the air. Fans are a big help because, while water keeps the temperatures from changing rapidly, the fans help keep the heat evenly distributed around the incubator.

Once I have a bigger place, I'm going to do the same thing but with an upright freezer with a clear door. Just do the same thing: heat tape along the back of the freezer, fans to circulate the air, and water to keep the temps stable. I've heard of people filling the freezer door shelves with 2L bottles, which I think is an awesome idea (and it doesn't take up clutch space). Another thing I've seen people do is put a giant tub of water at the bottom (sometimes in a larger container of sand) with another heating element underneath. This route not only keeps temps stable, but it also keeps the entire inside of the freezer at a high humidity, so you can put air holes in the clutch containers (more circulation for the eggs) and still keep the humidity at the right level.

I wanna make one like this too if I ever get a bigger place. One thing I did find with my coolerbator, when I had the heat tape on the bottom, under the water bottles, the tape got wet from condensation/humidity that pooled in the bottom of the cooler. I thought this may be dangerous, so I stuck the heat tape on the sides of the cooler. I've also heard of people putting submersible aquarium heaters in the tub of water to help keep temps and humidity up.

y'all have some nice incubators! and "coolerbators" lol...

im starting to know more less how to do it :dgrin:

i think im going to use my styrofoam cooler..
how much is flexwatt? and thats the heat source right?

Why was there condensation? The water bottles shouldn't be causing water in the air to condense....

Still, though, putting the heat tape on the side--especially with a fan blowing over it--would probably be better anyway....

Price varies with the width of the Flexwatt. A couple good places to get it are the Bean Farm and Reptile Basics.

I had water in the vermiculite/perlite and a pan of water to keep the humdity up. Water would collect on the inside lid of the cooler and drip down on the heat tape.
