    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Just purchased a 100% Het for piebald from dan. To begin with I was unable to put this kind of cash together. Dan agreed to take a down payment and payments as I could. The price was agreed on at $800.00 total. After lowering his asking price on the other hets, he sent me a E mail and offered mine at the same price. He did not have to lower my price due to the fact this was a agreed upon price. He was just a great guy to deal with, very fast to respond to E mails . After final payment my het was delivered as promised in good health and packaged well in a insulated box. I got a great deal an a Adult het that he could have easily got $1000.00 for. I would highly recommend dan to anyone looking for a trusting seller. Could not have been happier with my purchase. Thanks Dan for the great service. Bryan :spinner03

Alert!! Alert Buyer Beware Of Daniel Haney !!

ALERT !!! ALERT !!! BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I just wanted to let people that are interested in doing business with this person, Daniel Haney, [email protected] is his Email and his screen name is DHSERPS or whatever name he is using at this time, that you read this first. Daniel was pleasant to deal with in the beginning but as soon as he could get more money for an already confirmed sale he just disregarded my purchase and sold to another higher bidding buyer. He is dishonest and if he makes a deal with you for one amount and gets a better offer you will not get the reptiles. It happened to me on REPTIBID.com. I bought a pair of 1.1 ADULT ALBINO Boas for $4,000.00 as a buy it now sale. I contacted him on the phone, had a conversation with him about the snakes and he told me someone else was interested in them from Arizona but he made the sale to me and I wired the money over to him using PayPal. He confirmed that he received the money. It was November 24th and Thanksgiving was the next day, so I asked if he could hold them for 2-3 days and he stated that since he already had the money that this was not a problem. I had to quickly make room for these snakes and I lost a substantial sum of money by selling my animals at a loss and on timed payments which I do not usually do. I also lost the opportunity for other purchases I was interested in because he had $4,000.00 of mine. I contacted him on Saturday to tell him to ship Wednesday and he stated that this was good for him. But, when I called the day before to get shipping info he stated that suddenly, his phantom partner had already sold and shipped my snakes to someone in (you guessed it) Arizona. When I asked about this he said you got your money back and not to question him and said F--- You and hung up and blocked my number. This behavior is less than honorable and I would not recommend that anyone buy anything from him as he is not trustworthy.
Contact me at [email protected] for any other questions you may have.

Thanks for reading this Hank

Report Him to Reptibid!

If what you say is true then there should be a record of your having used the "buy it now" feature at Reptibid. What he did was dead wrong and a simple return of your money doesn't cut it. When he posted the animals at Reptibid he entered into a legal binding agreement which you in turn abided by to purchase said items. There's nothing different you could have done and at the very least you have the option of leaving negative feeedback at Reptibid on him. For the record I've dealt with this person and didn't have a problem. I sold him an adult male hypo boa. It seems good or bad deals are a hit or miss thing. :shrug01:

I sent him a PM telling him the same thing. I dont know Florida law, but if it is in fact a legal binding contract, he's got legal ramifications that he can persue.

I'd advise him to look into the legal aspects of that issue. I'd assume that what the seller did could be constituted as online fraud, although the money was returned, his part of the contract was not fulfilled.

I could Understand if......

one or both animals became ill, died, or got loose and therefore Daniel couldn't deliver the goods. To out and out blow you off because his "partner" (it's always a spouse or partner that's at fault) decided to sell the animals off is inexcusable. I also wish the current three threads running on this person could be merged into one so people can see for every good guy post there lurks a negative comment elsewhere. The bottom line is the only way an unscrupulous seller seems to see the light is when it hits their pocketbook. Daniel, you may be new to the business of dealing over the net but that's even more reason why you need be a straight shooter. Reputation is everything so my advice is to you is before you make any more decisions you should consult with someone that knows right from wrong.
