    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    For Sale 1.0 LTC Paraguay-locale Yellow-Tail Cribo

    Had this guy for a few years now. I need to cut back on my collection due to family obligations, so I am selling him for what I paid for him from Brian Sharp so many years ago: $1000 plus shipping, but I will entertain any serious offers. When I got him, his rostrum was just about gone, but he's...

    Can rats and mice share the same room?

    Ok, I searched this forum pretty well, and didn't find a match for this question or anything like it, so maybe someone has heard of this. Could also be it is fairly common knowledge, and I'm just out of the loop. Anyway, here it is: I'm building a rodent building and a good friend of mine I...

    Aint she purty?

    Here is my newest acquisition, a beauty of a Suriname YTC from none other than Brian Sharp. This is not your typical YTC.

    Nice Find

    Found this little guy crossing the road about a mile from my house this morning. The wife and I were taking some friends and family out on our boat for a day on the Suwannee/Santa Fe river system, and if I hadn't forgot my wallet and been delayed a few extra minutes, I probably would have either...

    Good Guy Alan Brutosky is the Man!

    There are reptile breeders, then there are Reptile Breeders. Alan is well-known for his expertise, particularly when it comes to Drymarchon, but after getting to know him a little, all I can say is what a priviledge it has been to not only purchase one of his best animals (after a long...

    This dang 'puter...

    Anyone else having a problem with their graphics on windows-7 64-bit OS? This is my second web-rider in a year that has started to do this thing where it doesn't want to display flash driven areas of the screen correctly. The last one was due to a chipset issue, and they gave me a credit towards...

    The Secret Terrorists...

    I read this book in about 4 hours the first time, then re-read it and checked some of the facts out, and so far, I can't find anything unfactual about it. If anyone does find something solid to go against it, then please share it with me. Now I would like to hear opinions, but try and keep it...

    Best looking snake contest.

    I did search on this and found nothing close to what I was looking for, so I thought ynot, which is my name backwards... Anyway, not really looking to make a contest out of this at all, just would like to see some of the animals you guys and gals have out there. I'll start out with a pic I...

    Good Guy Jeff Jones, drymarchonsnakes.com is my hero.

    I just received THE, as in not one of, most beautiful serpent I have ever owned -period. She is a 2009 holdback from Jeff Jones' collection, and at roughly 5' long, is absolutely stunning, and I think she knows it... Not only are her colors amazingly better than these pics show, but she is a big...

    For parents with preemies...

    Does anyone out there have a 3-year-old child that absolutely refuses to chew and must be served pureed food even though he/she has teeth? Besides this, my son also won't talk except for a word or two here and there. He was born at 24.6 weeks gestation and weighed 2#, 3 oz. He has seen many...

    Good Guy Nate w/ Swanee's Exotics

    Just got two baby concentric DBTs from him this afternoon. They were in the shipping container less then 20 hrs on their trip from WA to FL, the box was packed well and insulated, and his instructions to FedEx were followed well by them (they called me shortly after it arrived). The price was...
