    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Hiya Kids, I want to buy this boa, but the seller is not comfortable shipping. I'm hoping to find someone in that area, who will pick up the snake, and ship it to me. http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=788740 Of course, everything will be pre-paid, so you would just need to box...

    Prescription Drug Prices

    So, I read this article the other day, and it made me even more angry than I was before. I knew that drug prices in the U.S. were higher than anywhere else in the world, but wasn't aware of exactly why. The reason that this is such a sore spot at the moment, is because my husband's job was...

    Info Yaz Mansour - Poor Shipping

    I really hesitated to post this, but after thinking about it, and showing the photos to a couple friends, I decided that people should at least be aware of how their animal(s) may arrive from this seller. I purchased this beautiful diamond python from Yaz Mansour last month. Just to clarify, I...

    Good Guy Jason Taylor / Beyond Genetix / Great Guy!

    I've been looking at hognose snakes for a couple months, but couldn't find anything less than the $400-$500 price range. Since I just wanted one for a pet, and don't need expensive bloodlines, I was getting discouraged. I contacted Jason, since I knew he works with these guys, and he has a...

    Snake Attacks Sleeping Grandma

    These sensationalized stories are why people hate, and fear snakes. I'm glad the woman is okay, but they make it sound like it was wrapped around her neck...

    Good Guy Tom Pecanic (Amelanistic Orca)

    I picked up a gorgeous adult female pastel BP from Tom last week. He had her listed for local pick up, but he agreed to ship her for me. She is healthy, flawless, and huge! I did notice Tom's negative rep, but I couldn't find anything, other than some colorful/salty comments on a few threads...

    Good Guy John Hannum (User: Skinker)

    John had some nice sub-adult jungle carpets up for sale last fall. I wasn't really looking to buy younger animals, but saw the photos he had posted of the parents. Just for the heck of it, I contacted John to see if he would be willing to sell the adult male. We exchanged a few e-mails, and...

    Anyone have diabetic dogs?

    So, being the sucker that I am, I adopted this dog from Craigslist last week, after losing our 19-year-old rat terrier. The guy said she was was up-to-date on vaccinations, and 100% healthy. NOT! I managed to track down her former vet, through her old rabies tag. She hadn't been vaccinated...

    Site issues with mobile devices

    Hiya Kids, Is anyone else having problems with pages loading very slowly, or not at all? I've been experiencing this for the past few days while using my phone, and tablet. I haven't tried using my desktop, so just wanted to ask if this is happening to other people. Trying to figure out if...

    Bad Guy Buyer Beware - Lisa Apramian

    I had posted a link to a negative BOI thread regarding Lisa Arpramian, in an ad she posted today. She deleted the ad, then re-posted, and closed it to comments. Nice try, Lisa, but people need to know who they're dealing with. Especially to the tune of $2k...

    Good Guy Shane Wooldridge - sbwool63

    I received an awesome adult boa from Shane a couple days ago. As many of you know from Milo Garcia's thread, I had a bad experience sending money to someone I don't know. Not this time! The box was packed very well, and the snake is gorgeous, even in shed. What stood out even more, is that the...

    I responded to Chris' want ad for radiant heat panels. He needed two, but wasn't able to send full payment right away. I shipped both panels to him, with his promise to send the balance owing by Friday, April 14th. True to his word, Chris sent payment today, a day sooner than promised. Never...

    Good Guy Mario Guillen (MG3E62692)

    I purchased a motley goldenchild retic from Mario, and received him last week. He arrived safe and sound, but a little chilly. This was not Mario's fault, as SYR advised him against using a heat pack. After letting him slowly warm up to room temperature, he seems fine, and took a small rat for...

    Beardie diet

    Hi Kids, I'm new to bearded dragons, and adopted my first a couple of weeks ago. They are such cool lizards! My question is, do any of you more experienced keepers feed nightcrawlers to yours? My guy seems to prefer food that moves - crickets, Dubia roaches. I feed nightcrawlers to my oscars...

    Good Guy Underground Reptiles (Rian, Corrine, and Bianca)

    I was hesitant to buy from Underground Reptiles, as I much prefer to support small, hobby breeders. However, I was looking for a champagne BP, and couldn't find what I wanted. They had a nice adult male, at a very reasonable price. I sent payment, and arranged a ship date. The snake I received...
