    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Solomon Island ground vs. tree boa

    Hello all. I have been thinking of getting a Solomon island ground boa, I really love the look of the heads and that they don't grow super big. Also that they seem to have a great temperament. But I have notice that the tree boas look a lot alike. At least they do a the very few dealers...

    What makes it a HYPO

    Hello all, I am new to king snakes, but have been raising snakes for many years, so I know this is a newbie question. Sorry. I just bought this beautiful baby girl this past weekend at a local reptile show in northeastern MD. It was sold to me as a Hypo brooks. What does the hypo mean in...

    Jungle Carpet Pythons - Neurological problems?

    So at a recent reptile show I picked up a Jaguar Carpet python baby from a reputable dealer that gets great marks in the BOI. A little lethargic but typical of very young and slender snakes. I asked several questions about care, feeding, and adult coloration. Thought I was clear enough that I...

    Was out doing a little fishing in a small reservoir when this little fellow popped up on a tree by me. I was so excited I dropped my pole in the water, but got it back and got the picture with my phone camera. :)

    I just purchased my first of these today at Repticon Baltimore. I'm enamored. He's skittish at the moment but hope to post pictures later. Two questions I hope you all can help me with. Before I went looking for one of the rainbows, almost all the information I found led me to believe that...

    Solid black or brown morph?

    I own a blue eyed lucy and absolutely love the solid color look. And have noticed that the darker morphs are less common in the market. I imagine it's that the brighter colors are more eye catching and make for better sales. My question is, is there any solid black or brown morph in the ball...

    Is there such a thing as non-breeders for sale?

    I ask because, the morphs are incredible, but as we know can be expensive. Since I don't want to get involved in breeding, just to have a few as pets, I can't justify on my budget spending the bigger bucks for some of the lookers. I think once or twice at a show I saw a ball marked pet only...

    Book / Site recommendation

    Having tried to find a guide to breeding that isn't so basic that it doesn't actually say anything or too scientific that it's too hard for me to understand I have become lost. Please help me. I am interested in breeding my ball in the near future as a 1 or 2 time project so that I can use it...

    Looking for small breeds

    I recently posted a similar request on the python forum and received some great direction. Since I haven't decided whether I would like to add another python or boa to my small collection I was hoping for some direction. I am interested in boas that remain below 6 feet. I have seen ground and...

    Looking for small python breeds

    I have been reading about the different dwarf retics and other pythons and there seems to be a large disparity in opinion of adult size. I would greatly appreciate any insight into which pythons stay below 6 feet? Also if you think they would make appropriate pets for a family with children...

    New addition

    Hello all. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the annual reptile show in Timonium, Maryland today and wanted to share a few photos of my new baby girl. I am really excited as I have been wanting a California King for several years now. My family and I have shared time with redtail boas...

    I had the pleasure of attending the M.A.R.S. show in Timonium, MD this past weekend. As I have experienced in the past it was again well organized and had some really great vendors. I settled on a Children's python hatchling that has had 2 feedings of live pinks. The information the vendor...

    Let me start off by saying sorry to see you leave Ron. I watch from the background a lot. But on to the new business ... my albino nelson's has refused any mouse at all, of any size. He has however taken a scented one. I am still working on changing him over, so these pictures are of his...

    Inexperience at local pet store pays off

    I am trying to teach my 4yr old and 2 yr old daughters an appreciation for reptiles in general, but snakes specifically. I have been working on my better half for some time and finally picked up a Snow motley for my 4 yr old. Since 1 is never enough I have been checking the local stores for a...
