    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Supposed "Zoo Bred" herps for sale...

I hope this is the correct forum. At this time I don't want to post the name of the company that initiated me posting this because no money has changed hands(but if there is more call for it, I will consider moving this to the BOI with the company name, though right now I don't think it's...

    Animals dressed as Humans...

ARGH!!! Who else is totally annoyed by this??? I swear, if they needed clothes, they wouldn't have fur, feathers, or scales. Come on people, they're ANIMALS!!! And even though your poodle may look cute in a sweater or your cat looks so shweet with a tiara on its head, they're owners look like...

    "Tiger" Phase Leopard...

Hopefully this link will work. This is an older picture of my original "Tiger" male leopard from my old website. This trait has proven itself to be inheritable, however it is not exactly locked down yet. Many people don't get into them, but to me, they are an awesome looking leopard gecko(but...

    Chinese Leopard Gecko Care Sheet...

This is a care sheet for Chinese Leopard Geckos that outlines how I successfully kept and bred this species. As with any of my care sheets, critiques are welcome, but this is how it has worked for me. This nor any of my other care sheets should be taken as definitive works on the species...

    Ocelot Gecko Care Sheet...

This is a care sheet I wrote some time ago for Ocelot Geckos(Paroedura pictus). Hopefully someone can find it useful. Critiques are welcome, but the methods listed here and in my other care sheets are methods that have proven to be successful for me over the years, but these should in no way...

    Uroplatus Care Sheet...

This is a care sheet I wrote a while back on Uroplatus ebenaui and U. phantasticus. It has been posted on several sites and forums, but I figured I might as well put it here, too. Hopefully it can be found useful. There is no breeding info in this care sheet since I have not bred either of...

    Outdoor Tortoise Pen...

Here's a photo of one side of my tortoise pen. During the spring and summer it houses my single Yellow-foot Tortoise(the pic shows several, but I am down to just the one now). It is an odd shape and measures 15x15x7x7x7. Tell me what you think?

    Yellow-foot Tortoise...

This is my lone surviving Yellow-foot. Her name is Kool-aid(I don't know why, it just stuck)and she's a pretty good-sized girl. She currently weighs about 22-23 pounds and measures 16 inches across the top. This picture was taken this past summer in her outdoor pen, which I'll post pics of...

    Copperhead Photo...

This is one of my Southern/Northern Coppers(many of our Coppers in this area show traits of both and we are in an intergrade zone so many are possible intergrades). She gave birth to one baby in 2001 much to my surprise. Unfortunately, the baby was much smaller than most baby coppers and...

    Chahoua...

Here's a pic of one of my Rhacodactylus chahoua from Phil Tremper. This one is only about 6 months and already pushing over 7 inches. These guys have quickly become my favorite geckos. The personality is tough to beat, especially when they come running to the front of the cage whenever I've...

Another Herp-related one, the Mongolian Death Worm...

This is an interesting little animal. Correctly known as the Olgoi-khorkhoi and/or Allergorhai-horhai, there was even mention of it during Roy Chapman Andrews' famous Central Asiatic Expeditions. Supposedly, he was warned about this animal by some Mongolian officials and if his party were to...

Let's rate the best plastic cages on the market...

Let's get this forum started... I know that everyone uses a myriad of different cages to house their collections, but I was curious as to everyone's thoughts on the many plastic cage companies out on the market now. I know everyone's got their opinions of which ones are better and why, so...

    And one more Emerald pic...

This is one of my other female Northern Emeralds. She is a monster and pushing 6 feet if not slightly over(she never holds still enough, and I don't need a handful of those teeth lol). Overall she's not a bad snake, though she is a bit picky about when and what she wants to eat(sometimes live...

And yes, I have Emeralds, too...

This girl is kind of a labor of love. She is my first Emerald, and she's got SERIOUS regurgitation problems, but I'll still keep doing what I can. I've had good luck with giving her nutribac treated small mice before, so I will be putting her back onto them. Anyway, here's a pic of her...

    Rob Worrell Aru-type Chondro...

Here's a pic of my Aru-type from Rob Worrell(www.allchondros.com). She's a great little chow-hound that is growing like a weed(which I am told is a trait of all of Rob's kids). There's a funny story behind how I got this snake, but we'll save that for another time:D Thaks for looking. Cheers!

    Big Cat Sightings in Australia...

Has anyone heard or read anything about these? I've been doing some reading on them at a couple of cryptozoology websites about them, mainly Rex Gilroy's Mysterious Australia site(sorry, don't have a link handy but will dig one up asap). There have been several photos and even some film shot...

    Who IS the Better Pollster???

As my good buddy Richard "The Apple Sauce" Mott pointed out, he did pretty much originate these goofy "Who Would Win" polls. So I wanted to pay homage to my Jedi-master with a poll. Granted, I have been the most prolific, but not necessarily the best(but we all KNOW I am don't we;) j/k)...

    Another Male Sorong-type...

This is my male from Shawn Gray at Sunbaked Serpents. This one came to me as a yellow yearling and I got to watch pretty much the entire color change process which was awesome. He was a yellow neonate and he began changing at about 17 months old and the change from start to finish took 11...

    Another male Biak-type...

This is the male that previously was used to breed the Big Girl. I bought him as a Sorong-type, but he doesn't really fit into that category at all in my opinion, but doesn't exactly 100% fit into the Biak-type designation, but it's close enough for me. He's still a great snake, nonetheless:)...

    Male Biak-type Chondro...

This is one of my males dubbed "Sacrifice" due to his tendency to ritualistically make me bleed nearly every time I open his cage;) He's got some nice color and pattern to him and I plan to pair him up with the Big Girl pictured below as a replacement to the previous male that was with her...
