    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

This thread certainly makes me want to support his efforts. Now I am aware of this organization, and I know others who did not know, will as well.

JORDANS A GOOD DUDE AND IVE TAKEN PART IN SOME OF THE AUCTIONS AS WELL AS DONE BUSINESS WITH HIM MULTIPLE TIMES. The entire premise of this post is ridiculous. This isn't a place for hurt feelings.

Whoever called Jordan an ass? Seriously? Name calling? Grow up. As far as the O.P. looks like a big display of passive aggressive whining. Instead why not talk about the people who have won auctions in the past and bailed on paying? Jordans such an ass that he is cordial and takes the high road and doesn't drag them through the mud on the BOI when they should be. I mena to question ones integrity because they have a personality conflict is petty and low, Even if Jordan was an ass and i can assure you he is sometimes(I wonder why) it doesn't equate to him being shady or a con man. And if you ever have a question about that why dont you talk to the board of USARK. The O.P. should realize how ungrateful he looks to the public and worry about how his ridiculous behavior and attempt at revenge on the BOI looks to the public since he is so concerned about what everyone else thinks... Insinuation ,accusation and aggravation are the words of the day in reference to the O.P. If someone accused me of scamming people in a raffle/auction for USARK i would be more than an ass. I personally find the O.P..'s post offensive and whoever posted(someone care not to remember) using this thread to poke a jab at Jordan need to learn how to treat people with respect. Why don't you guys run off one of the few people who puts up or sh=uts up out of the hobby. I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate in this manner. Wouldn't be the first unappreciated go getter to bounce from this ungrateful hobby because they got disenfranchised and burned out.

Note to Guy Castro. Calling someone an ass is calling someone an ass. Saying someone is whining is not calling them a whiner.Calling someone an ass for no real specific reason is uncalled for. Saying the O.P. Is whining after posting what he did in many public forums in an attempt to discredit someone for no good reason opens that person up for criticism. Your ridiculous, irrelevant passive aggressive poke at me in an attempt to be coy leaves me pondering what your point is.

Being someone who has donated thousands of dollars worth of animals to these auctions gives me a sense of inclusion and as a result when anyone attempts to tarnish this very noble and extremely effective revenue generator for the only real organization that fights for my rights, I feel I have a relevance to post. So Guy if you care to make passive aggressive unwarranted jabs at me for no reason please do it via email or P.M.
 
Hey Karl. when is your upcoming raffle or contest to support USARK, our hobby and industry. I assume you can do it better the Jordan can. Put up or shut up. Some people just can't be believed. Of all the gal.
 
First I support USARK and donate as well.

Second: my conversation with Jordan was not to hurt his feelings or put him down at all. I was just voicing my opinion on how the raffle went and looked with his comments on his facebook page.

I was surprised a video was not done of the electronic raffle. Instead of just writing down the winners name on his facebook wall. He could have filmed the computer screen drawing the winner. I am not the only one who thought this looked bad, I am just the one who asked him about it.

Third: Jordan posted his Rant on his wall calling me a lazy ass, ??? Where does that come from? I bought tickets for the raffle and the previous raffles!!! as well as made other donations to USARK.

Also, I did not care if I won that raffle or not. It's fun to participate in and the prizes are great, but I am not a sore loser, LOL. I have all that equipment any way ;)

Also being called a Noob, LOL I have been in the biz for 27 years. I have been in the biz since day 1 ;)

In our Conversation I gave him praise on the $30K he did raise this time, but it just struck me as the wrong thing to say when Jordan used the word "Meh" in his wording. It made it seem like he was not being professional in not raising more money "To Me" you guys may see it different and that's okay.

I think Jordan is Awesome for what he has done for USARK, he has raised a shit ton of money for them and others as well.

This all was not to Bash him or anything like that. I'm sorry if you guys feel that way.

This is an uncalled for outburst by Jordan. Calling me a lazy ass, has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. Pathetic insults??? I never insulted him, I gave him my opinion. I did say it looked shady yes, only because it just seemed to me that things were not done as good as he has in the past.

I am done with this non sense and I sent Jordan a letter apologizing if I hurt his feelings in any way.

I do Support him and what he does, I cannot come close to what he does period !

I posted this because I wanted opinions. It is clearly obvious that most people do not read everything.

Also it is very obvious that Jordan is burnt out on a few things, because he says so on his facebook page as he is selling a lot of things. Maybe he was just too strained and I got the tongue lashing.

I Fully Support Jordan Russell with the fundraising he does. And he does a Fantastic Job.

Note to Jay Sommers, you called him a whiner so suck it up. I have no idea what the issue is in this thead,still don't and really don't give a damn. When someone "whines",he/she is a whiner.So Jay,wake up and smell the roses.;)
 
Karl, you can't claim to "praise" someone for their efforts and then post in the boi about them because they used a term you didn't like. We set a high goal for the raffle because of the huge prize and when we didn't hit it, it was a little surprising and that's how it felt. So to criticize, call it shady, suggest the winner isn't even in the US and and and...is a little difficult to be silent about. There is a difference between making a suggestion and insinuating that there is foul play. I suggest you learn that difference before opening your mouth.

It's all in the numbers....$30K is 40% less than the last Auction. It speaks for it self....otherwise we would see $60K.....Who has the contract to ship all those critters?

Just in case you are confused,

1.) Raffles and Auctions are not the same thing.

2.) Just like with the auctions, we have progressively raised more with each event than the preceeding event.

3.) There is no contract for any shipments.

You're right on one thing though, the numbers do speak for themselves. $180,334 raised for charities in 10 months. see link below.

What Id love to know is , how they are running online raffles when the Online raffles are not Legal when crossing state lines since each state has their OWN laws on who can do what and how.
 
stupid thread. People sent money directly to usark.....even if the winner was in nigeria...who cares? usark got the donations, mission accomplished.

Everything was on the RAACA site including terms of which states can participate, who can play, etc. We have a terms page which we have live during each event to explain exactly that.

This is exactly why our "Hobby/Industry" Is falling apart, We have People like JORDAN RUSSELL and TAMMY RUSSELL plus many others working their butt off to help provide solutions and resources to aid to the community. Then we have this one "crybaby" that basically just can't read English, gets confused and makes false accusations towards Jordan all because he can't READ. Plus his feelings getting hurt for using the "Meh" Which doesn't even apply to anything. Just another angry wannabe "Professional Breeder". Like Ken Foose Said "Put up or shut up." If you can create a raffle even remotely close to what Jordan has put together you can have my entire collection. I have known Jordan and Tammy for many years, They both have been so kind to EVERYONE and actually contributing to the community we all like to see stay around. Thank you Jordan and Tammy for all you guys do!!!!!
