I'll try one more time. Had he posted them as wild imports or that they need to continue to be treated for ri I still would have bought them. My problem is in his ads ( look in the monitor section ) before the very last one he says they are healthy not skinny no droopy eye.......

I'll waste my time & try one more time too. No one is calling you a liar or saying that he isn't a bad guy if what your saying is true. We are just waiting for the photos & proof to what you are saying just like we would if it was a claim against you.

Agian damage control I wanted this local of monitor so since I have resources to treat them I bought them. I posted this to warn others that inexperienced herpers should stay away. Were I on the other hand have no problem taking in imports /sick animals and turning them into good captives.

It has nothing to do with who you know or your experience being able to see a sick animal or treat it. If you really want to do good for the community stop focusing on yourself & think of everyone else who has a love for reptiles no matter what there experience. If you cant do it for them then do it for the animals.

I saved three warned everyone esle I'll sleep just fine knowing that.

Speaking a warning will never be heard as well as your actions & in this case it says if you think you save an animal it's okay for you to get it because you that local of species. I don't care how long you been taking care of reptiles, no one knows everything & this animals will humble you. Sleep & dream all you want about being a hero for saving 3 animals but know you supplied someone who you claim isn't fit with funding to purchase more & remain in business.

I never said I know it all by any means! I am always willing to learn more. Here are some pics mind you I have been treating the ri and have gotten them to eat as well. The one in the last pic was the healthiest. The first pic clearly shows how thin he is look at the base of the tail. The other two have mice in there bellies so they look a lil plumb but trust me they were very sluggish and weak till the antibiotics kicked in.As far as more what would you like? look how they were sleeping with there heads tilted up against the glass classic sign of ri. As far as the bubbling they are at a min. thanks to the antibiotics.You can also verify that they have ri by joes last post as he says he has treated them for it. Sorry for the bad pics used my phone so you didn't have to wait.

Here are two of my healthy ones mind you lenth wise they are close to the sick ones but look at how nice and plump his tail and hind legs are. The second one is bigger then the new ones but still healthy!!Agian sorry for bad pics my phone sucks. lol If I put them all together you can really see but I won't risk that just to prove a point.

Like I originally stated I though long hard and thought that letting people know was not being selfish at all. I told the story how it happen and thats all. If everyone wants to give me heat for buying them then fine. I really wanted this thread to catch joes attention and hope he would see that people do care. I hoped that he would just keep a better eye on things like this. Not all the animals joe had were sick infact most looked good. Joe seemed knowledgeable and I dont wish anyone in this biz bad karma. At the same time I thought I sould tell anyone before they bought one. Next time I'll wait till someone complains then chime in.

Thanks for responding to this, good to hear your side of the story. Are you denying the fact that they were sick or are you saying they were recovering but he knew about that prior to buying them?

The best I can get from this post is he is saying you purposly sell sick animals and pass them off as healthy. I think he is warning others not to buy from you becasue of this (even though he himself bought three from you ).

Yes I asked for a discount cause of the fact I wanted three. Yes I hand picked them why wouldn't I? Why did I notice the ri and ask for a discount well its simple cost of treatment and possible loss of the animal. As far as coming down you didnt and I still took three so money is not the issue or I would have said no.

If you knew they had ri and treated them why bring them? Why didn't you mention they were sick in are emails? What if I had paid for shipping I would have gotten them sick all the same.This is my point you were selling animals you knew were sick and not telling anyone . Try and say it's over a discount all you want but I started this thread to warn others of there conditions. I never said you were a rescue. I'm not mad over the price I always try to get a deal when I can but I dont bash people for it. I've bought several reptiles off here and have never complained about what I pay deal or not. I think your statement proves my point.

Before everybody really jumps down Bruce's throat (might be too late for that) I think most of us can relate to what he's gone through. Something I think a lot of people know as "the bleeding heart syndrome".

As someone else has mentioned, most of us here are reptile lovers so it pains us to see any reptile in pain or sick. I've been in a similar situation when it comes to leopard geckos. I stopped in a store I've never been to and saw one gecko that was very skinny, had stuck shed, and was in terrible living conditions.

I'm not kidding when I say I spent over an hour debating with myself about what to do. I know getting this little guy would only make the owner justified in his treatment of these animals, but I also had the funds and resources to save the this gecko that was there at the time.

In the end I bought him and nursed him back to health, but I also warn people about this store now. I figured I could save one, and prevent other people from going down the same path I have.

Is it a bit hypocritical? Yeah, but to see a helpless animal laying there, and knowing you have the resources to nurse them back to health is sometimes harder to say no to.

We will have some nice V. Bivittatus water monitors some have dome nice yellow in them. There from Flores indo. Alot rarer to get then Sumatrans. Will have them at the show sat if you want to check them out.

I never said you were a rescue so where u got that I don't know. I was warning others of there condition because I'm sick of people selling animals that are sick . If I had let you ship then I would have gotten sick monitors and had fight to get my money back. Its all to common in this industry and I'm sick of it. I bought them knowing they were sick cause I felt bad but what about the poor Guy you send one to and they don't know. Get mad if you want but you should have stopped selling them when you realized they needed medical treatments. Say its over money all you want but we both know that's not true. I have a trust fund that will never run out so cash means shit to me. That don't mean I'm to good for a deal if I can get one but if not o well.

You know what pisses me off someone who's just out to ruin another persons name. I take extra care of my animals and go over an above for them. And to have some one bad mouth me after you act like you were happy pisses me off. We didn't sell any more at the show FYI!! I left them in there because there was a heat lamp on them. And yes I have shipped some out all were happy and had positive results. Good for you and your endless fund spend it somewhere else like bettering your family instead of slander someone's name because you have nothing better to do. And we treat them for ri as soon as they arrive. As almost any young water monitor that gets chilled will show signs of it. Its unavailable as they need to stay hot at all times. Like I said I've been doing this for years and have a PhD in herpetology and biology so not like I'm a over the night person trying to make a quick buck. Just like you I have money as I own a decent size tree service. I work with animals more as a hobby and for fun. I kids that enjoy it as well. Here's what why don't you return the animals I'll repay for all 3 plus 50.00 for your time and meds.

We do are best to provide healthy animals. I didnt see any bubbling and I own them and tend them everyday and I put them in the unit non and I mean non were bubbling at all. There was one who had one eye closed and and one open we pulled him. He is still alive and doing well. We sold some over the interenet and shipped them no issues. Bruce came there for one purpose to get a good deal. He even mentioned it would be cheaper to pick them up rather then have them shipped. I don't blame him because we all want a better deal and a better deal he got. I was asking 150.00ea on them he got all 3 for 320.00 do the math there thats a pretty good deal. He wanted me to go down to 300.00 and I said no. I have the right to deny a sale of my own animals if I feel it is a unfair value sale. He was addimit more so about getting a deal over the health of the animals. Which they were not sick like he is claiming. He already lied and said there was 12 in a 5gallon tank first off we didnt even have 12 of them there we had 6 altogether and are units are not 5gallon tanks so the facts are already off. This guy wants glory for suppasably saving a sick animal!! I have been in this business for a very long time and his post is only the second time someone has tried to bash me the first didnt stand up at all as it wasz angry vendor upset that she couldnt compete with my tarantula prices. Now this!! I always do right by animals and to have someone bash them is upsetting. These were not C.B water monitors they were w.c from Indonesia and when they came in we gave them 24hrs to settle then treated them for RI which we do for all monitors that come from are exporters. We do 3-5 days of treatments. Water monitors are one of the most known species to come in with RI because they can not handle a drastic change in weather. We provide them with a hot spot of 120 degrees and unit temps of 80-90 degress. I have nothing to hide here. You wanna know just ask. It does upset me when someone is tring to get a pat on the back over my reputation. That doesnt fly with me at all.

If I came off as offensive or as a bully it wasn't my attempt. I'm only trying to share my opinion on why it's bad to purchase sick animals & the effects it has on the hobby in general. I believe Matthew understands due to admitting it's kind of hypocritical but from the response I received from Bruce it seemed as if you thought it was okay because it was you. The bottom line is if everyone ones says don't do this but thinks it's okay for them to do it themselves, nothing gets resolved because everyone is still buying sick animals. All we are actually doing is telling everyone else don't do it so we feel as better about what we know we shouldn't.

I believe you actually know what I'm trying to say, & I'm beating a dead horse for no reason. I still don't agree with the action of buying sick animals but will back of this thread since that wasn't what you started this thread for.

We do are best to provide healthy animals. I didnt see any bubbling and I own them and tend them everyday and I put them in the unit non and I mean non were bubbling at all. There was one who had one eye closed and and one open we pulled him. He is still alive and doing well. We sold some over the interenet and shipped them no issues. Bruce came there for one purpose to get a good deal. He even mentioned it would be cheaper to pick them up rather then have them shipped. I don't blame him because we all want a better deal and a better deal he got. I was asking 150.00ea on them he got all 3 for 320.00 do the math there thats a pretty good deal. He wanted me to go down to 300.00 and I said no. I have the right to deny a sale of my own animals if I feel it is a unfair value sale. He was addimit more so about getting a deal over the health of the animals. Which they were not sick like he is claiming. He already lied and said there was 12 in a 5gallon tank first off we didnt even have 12 of them there we had 6 altogether and are units are not 5gallon tanks so the facts are already off. This guy wants glory for suppasably saving a sick animal!! I have been in this business for a very long time and his post is only the second time someone has tried to bash me the first didnt stand up at all as it wasz angry vendor upset that she couldnt compete with my tarantula prices. Now this!! I always do right by animals and to have someone bash them is upsetting. These were not C.B water monitors they were w.c from Indonesia and when they came in we gave them 24hrs to settle then treated them for RI which we do for all monitors that come from are exporters. We do 3-5 days of treatments. Water monitors are one of the most known species to come in with RI because they can not handle a drastic change in weather. We provide them with a hot spot of 120 degrees and unit temps of 80-90 degress. I have nothing to hide here. You wanna know just ask. It does upset me when someone is tring to get a pat on the back over my reputation. That doesnt fly with me at all.

Second I bought three and there were alot more left there then three!!!!Third just cause you can look up a caresheet dont impress me. I didnt lie about there health look at the pics there thin and barley move. Your whole statement is bs they were in a small show cage too maybe 6gal joe none the less it was smaller then a 10gal for sure. I hope my sister in law has picks of your booth just really expose you for the liar you are.

And anyone is welcome to come visit us at any of the shows we do and be there own judge of this whole sitatuation so please join us at any of these shows and see what kind of animals we provide. Cheswick show this sunday, Steel city show in july, Columbus and cleveland in sept and hamburg in oct. We dont do the Hamburg show in aug because of the heat they have no moving air and its blitering hot in there and we usually have alot of frogs and inverts that dont do well in heat. But please come out and visit us and talk people we always like to meet new people and show what we have available.

Any receipts available?

No I paid cash but yes it was around 325 I wanted to pay 275. Joes price was not a problem as most waters are 125 each then 60+ for shipping. I only mentioned price in this because thats how it happen and I was telling the whole truth. So one more time the price has nothing to do with this I just wanted people to know they were sick.
