UPS Will Now Ship Non-Venomous Snakes

I'm actually going to ship a snake UPS next week, via Ship Your Reptiles. The buyer is over three hours from the nearest FedEx Ship Center, so this should be a nice option.

Update: I shipped a snake via UPS for the first time yesterday. It was delivered today to a hardware store in the buyer’s town, that is a UPS shipping location. All went well, and it saved the buyer a six hour round trip to the nearest FedEx center.

Get an agreement in writing from them. They were shipping for me way back when and then yanked the rug out from under me with some asinine claim that some of my snakes had escaped from the box. I checked ALL of my customers and not a one of them had any losses. My guess is that some local manager got a bug up his butt about snakes in general. Must have looked at the label and looked up what the latin name stood for.

I didn't find out about it till I was waiting for a pickup and the driver told me he could no longer pick up packages from my facility.

I don't have a dog in the hunt relative to FedEx or UPS. I have used FedEx for many years with satisfaction. I would not be deterred from using UPS either. I don't have a written agreement with FedEx and would like to better understand what you mean by having a written agreement with UPS. What year was your mishap with UPS? Thanks.

Oh it was a long time ago. But regardless, left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Someone used to send me feeder lizards via ups. I actually never knew they didnt ship live animals.... I mean they clearly did.
