    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Well my dh snow female that I got from Todd Callan just droppped and guess what out of 13 babies not only did I not get a snow, I also did not get any anerys. I did get 3 albinos and 10 normals. I have tried to get ahold of Todd Callan, via email with no luck. I purchased the "dh hets" from him. They were sold to him by Kenny Gall. I have since read some posts on Kenny and I have little hopes of hearing from him, however I would like to get ahold of Todd Callan and at least give him a chance to make it right. If anyone can help me contact via phone or a new email address I would appreciate it. I do not want to call him a bad guy prematurly, but I am seriously disappointed. Thank You.
Craig Kade.

Snow??

Sorry Craig. There should have been some anerys you would think.
There was a thread last year or the year before, right after Kenny Gall quit herps about his anery female boa, Some who saw it said it was just a dark boa and not an anery at all. If I remember correctly Kenny was selling his "double hets" for 1/2 the market price. ($500 a pr.)

Well I bought mine from Todd and I paid $1500 for the trio. I got them 2 years ago almost to the day. Thanks for the response Casey, I will talk to you later. Oh and it was actually 11 normal looking and 3 albinos, recounted them today. I guess it was a blessing the male out of the trio did not breed. I bred it with my real dh snow male. So at least the albinos are 50% possible het snow. Craig Kade

I wouldn't give up all hope at this point. If memory serves (it's been a while since college genetics). Statistically, one out of sixteen should have been snow. A total of 4 should have been either amel or anery. You got 3 Amels so you are really not too far off the statistacal average for a clutch of 15. I have never dealt with the person you purchased from but i would definitely say that this breeding does not rule out the genetics you were promised.

If you had gotten these results from a Snow to Double Het Breeding it would be different.

Hopefully next years breeding will give you a happier result

I beleive your genetics are a little off, out of 16 I should of had 3 anery and 3 albinos plus a snow, not having a snow did not phase me, I had a litter earlier this year with no snows, but I did get my 3 albinos and 3 anerys. Please be careful how you read this post. I mean no disrespect when I say I beleive your genetics are a little off, but if you read it like I have an attitude you might be offended. Thank you for the post. It is possible that she is a dh snow, but 1out of 4 should have been anery. With other facts I have learned about this Kenny Gall fellow, I am pretty sure I got screwed. My only hope is Todd Callan steps up and takes care of it. Thanks you. Craig Kade.

REWARD

Lets make it interesting. The first person who can give me a valid address, phone number, and email for Todd Callan gets a pair of 66% poss het albino, 50% possible het anerys for their trouble. No BS. you pay the shipping and you will have them as soon as I contact him. So if someone is sitting there thinking "yeah I know where to get ahold of him, but why post" maybe this will be motivation enough. Thanks. Craig Kade

WOW! HOLY FULL MAILBOXES BATMAN

I guess I should have been a little more specific, I know there are 200 diferent websites that let you pop a name in and they spit you out a ton of todd callans or T. Callans. If you want to call them all and try to verify wich one is him go right ahead. What I was hoping for is someone who knew him to let me know where he is. Last address I have for him is CSU 4892 williamsburg, VA. 23186. I was unable to find a todd or T. Callan at that address.Thank you all that responded I appreciate all the mail, and to answer one of the questions I got. No I do not want to drive down and kick his A$$. I just want him to make it right, and I think he will if I can get ahold of him.

Craig

I ran the punnett square again and I stand corrected. A total of six (by average) should have been either Amel (3) or Anery (3). I will say though that out of several hundred clutches of Colubrids I have hatched, I have seen those averages skewed all to hell in specific clutches. Keep a good thought and maybe you will get lucky next season.

Genetics isn't always exact. I've known of people breeding a 100% het with a homozygous and got all normals. And vice-versa.

I've known of people breeding a 100% het with a homozygous and got all normals.

You mean to tell me they bred say an albino with a 100% het albino and did not get even 1 albino out of the clutch!?

I would seriously consider that to be a case where the het was not a het at all.

Yes, out of a sixteen neonates, technically you should have gotten 4 Amels 100% het for Anerythrism, 4 Anerythristics 100%het for Amel, 4 normals double het for Amel and Anery, and 4 normals (or 8 normals that 66% chance double het for Snow), and one Snow.

Strange that you didnt get any Anery's. I have found that breeding boas you are more likely to get what you are supposed to get genetically. Colubrids is a different story all together!

I also wanted to add that I have never purchased anything from Kenny Gall, but had friends who have. He has given some people who dealt with him the feeling that he was a little shady.....even though he was a cop.

Actually, It was Pete Kahl who it happened to. He told me he bred a male piebald to a female het , HE produced. He got something like 7 eggs and none were piebalds.

I realize it is possible not to get any anerys, however given the fact that people were already questioning Kenny's anery(which I did not know at the time of purchase) I think it is pretty safe to say they are not dbl hets. To give you an idea how unlikely it is to not get an anery think of it this way. 1 out of 4 should be anery, I had 14 babies. It is the equivalent of flipping a quarter 7 times and getting heads every time. I know it is possible, but try it. I will bet you will be flipping quarters all night. As for finding Todd to see if he will make it right. We have made some progress, I appreciate all who helped 1 person in particular. He may want to remain His name is William Todd Callan. His DOB is 03-09-80
he went to the college of william and mary in virginia.
he was cocaptain of the cheerleading squad
he may have graduated last year
he is published
his last known emall address was [email protected] I have tried it and got no answer
I have tried to get ahold of him through the school including the cheerleading link, but no luck so far, as you can see I would really like to find him.
Again this is not a witch hunt, I just want to contact him to see if he will make this right. I am pretty sure he did not know at the time that the animals were not dbl hets. If anyone has his number I would love to get it or have him call me @989-790-8615 Thank you all very much for all the help I have gotten.
Craig Kade

With BP's I can see the possibility of not getting anything but normals since they have such a small clutch size.
However, boas on the other hand, on average have significantly larger litters. I was referring to boas when I posted about questioning the genetics of the het.

I tried, no luck. Thanks for the idea though. After a couple days of this I think I will assume he knows I am looking, and he just does not want to be found. Craig Kade

Thank you Dennis, I must have looked right past it. I dont know how much this helps but that email address is valid and still in use, if he has not responded then he has chosen not too it would seem.
