    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

***UPDATE: I was able to secure a co-pilot, but which most of You on this itinerary know as we are near the end of it (can hopefully wrap up tomorrow night), and she’s been with me since departure.

Greetings Everyone,

For those who were a part of any or all of the first six (6) itineraries, or at least followed the corresponding ads:

November 3: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=741990
November 17: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=743530
November 30: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745171
December 15: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=746372
December 29: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=747466
January 11: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=748657

...(a fill-in co-pilot and) I had returned to The Lone Star State on January 28th, with a Pre-Run by Lois and I on Monday/Tuesday the 25th/26th which I had to finish a couple of Deliveries from on the 28th, in eastern PA, which set us back ≈9 hours, not to mention leaving 1.5 hours late = actual arrival in Texas on Saturday the 30th @ 02:00 (CST). For those who are unaware of what all of this pertains to, please read my original ‘(VENOMOUS) ANIMAL DELIVERY SERVICE’ ad posted on September 4: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2222383#post2222383, and read all of the positive feedback on the first of the aforementioned links (11/3).

The positive feedback and immense support from all Sellers and Customers since our service commenced on November 3rd has been phenomenal, even after our car was totaled on January 1st (RIP, my beloved manual) and consequently delayed a few (sensitive) Deliveries a couple of days (not our fault of course!), but all kept n’ delivered alive n’ well! Even after becoming aware of the total, Y’All didn’t stop packin’ on the shipments, and right to the last day; we thank You again for the patronage and trusting us to keep everything alive n’ well on that most adverse, December 29th itinerary!!

And we are optimistic for our service to become even better!! I will detail how the process works which is quite simple honestly, but preferably over a phone call as I don’t have much time to type these days. In the meantime, please check out the previous ‘Texas-Bound’ ads for an idea of how these itineraries work, the smooth flow n’ logical order of Pickups and Deliveries, that is, and infer what You can.

As of February 1, we have 18 Pickups/22 Deliveries lined up so far, a handful of these on a Monday/Tuesday Pre-Run (1/25-26), and a few of these Deliveries being my own animals, hence the discrepancy with Pickups. See photos 2 & 3 for Google Maps screen captures of the Pre-Run itinerary, and photo #4 + two (2) Replies with five (5) more photos for Google Maps screen captures of the current Main Run itinerary, and the corresponding lists here (id est, more Pickups/Deliveries will likely be added which, logically, will alter the itinerary, but which all Sellers and Customers will be apprised of renewed ETAs):

Nota Bene: Google Maps Stop times show to be sooner, therefore the overall itinerary to be completed a lot sooner, based on nonstop driving; however, though we drive “nonstop”, being realistic based on the first five (5) itineraries (my gregarious, loquacious and personable nature being most culpable for delays, haha), I have adjusted for later days/times in creating more accurate ETAs. As Pickups/Deliveries are added, ETAs may or may not be affected.

Please share these ads like wildfire! The more shipments the merrier! And as far as payment options ($125 [minor surcharges for multiple Pickups, and for Pickups and/or Deliveries out of our range - be looking for a new colour-coded ‘territory map’ soon]), it is preferable for the Customer (Recipient) to pay me directly, but a few Sellers have preferred to pay me instead, and that’s fine. Payment will be due upon securing the shipment from the Seller, whether from the Customer (preferable) or the Seller. My payment option details:

Zelle: [email protected]
Cash App: $Burzum9
Venmo: Burzum999
PayPal: PayPal.Me/Burzum999/125 (main site), or send to [email protected] (app, mobile site)
Square: Over the phone unless You trust credit card details or photos via email or text which I would immediately delete, but this is NOT recommended

We thank You in advance for Your (continuing) patronage, especially in the wake of Delta’s dreadful return on Veteran’s Day (11/11)! ...in which, word has it, they have failed several times already! (...no surprise...) We offer so many benefits to our service, including but not limited to: daily inspections with photos and videos of each animal sent as proof (Customers love this!), live arrival guarantee (ask for terms or details), no special crating nor IATA labels, hand-delivery to Your home, work or public place of Your choice, flexibility and versatility including able to change course last minute (e.g. from home to work), direct communication (and timely responses) with the carrier of Your precious gems, et cetera.

Give Obscure Gems Reptiles’ Animal Transport Service a shot, You will NOT be disappointed!! :)

Sincerely,

Timothy Gould
