    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I’m looking to purchase a hypo boa and want to get some info regarding him. If you have done business with him please let me know if it was positive or negative.

Thanks,

Ryan Hill: No Prolems

I recently bought a tortoise from Ryan and didn't have any problems. He was easy to get ahold of and very accomodating. He did try to charge a little more for the animal in the end, but when I informed him of the price that was in the ad, he sold it to me for the original price and paid 1/2 of the shipping.
I would not have any reservations about doing business with him again.

I've boughten several reptiles from Ryan in the past, and plan on several reptiles in the future. He has never done me wrong :)

Ryan Hill

Ryan purchased an animal from me. From what I could tell, he
seemed like one of the good guys. Easy to work with.

Ryan Hill @ Captive Bred Specialties

Just sharing my experience with the Ryan @ Captive Bred Specialties. AKA boastud.

I purchased 0.1 Pastel from him. They have been very customer oriented, maintained excellent communication and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

The animal was received in excellent condition and they did a great job on her. I have to admit I was completely shocked when I pulled this girl out of the box. She in a nutshell was trully amazing and far exceeded my expectations on this pastel by a mile. Pictures Ryan sent me were a minor reflection of how well she really looked. A+++++

I would highly recommend them and hope to do business again.

I met Ryan Hill at the Daytona Expo where he purchased some of my photographs. He also emailed us later and purchased a few more photos. During all our correspondence with Ryan, he presented himself as a very professional individual and even though I haven't purchased anything from him, I wouldn't hesitate to do so!

Thank You,

Celia Chien

I picked up an 800 gram female ball python from Ryan. Came healthy and feeding . Would do business with him again for sure.

In an email he stated that he had someone interested in a payment plan on a snake I had inquired about and the first one with paypal got her. I replied back asking for his paypal address so I could send payment and he said she was on hold. Sent another email guaranteeing payment and he said she was sold. Other people seemed to have luck with him, but I'd watch out. Seems shady to me.

Why exactly, is he shady? You dont like the response you got, so now
he's shady... :shrug01: I've missed out on quite a few animals because I
was too late. This doesnt sound any different except you're a little upset..
I find what helps best with that is GETTING OVER IT!

What I consider shady is telling somone that the first with payment will get the snake. Within 1 minute of that response I asked for address to make payment. 19 minutes later, it's on hold until today. Within 4 minutes I offer a guaranteed deal. 20 minutes later, she's sold???It could be speculated that he was contacting the origional interested party, and giving them a chance at it? However, if that was the case, a little communication would go a long way. Bottom line is, the first with the money didn't get a chance as he stated.

I'm not trying to muddy any water here, but this is a board of inquiry. This is where people discuss dealings with an individual, right? I too have missed animals due to being late responding, and I am over it. In fact I purchased another snake within minutes of this deal. As I said in my ad, others have had luck with this guy it seems, and have discussed it on this forum. I chose to discuss my dealings as well.

What part of first person to paypal gets the animal is shady? The purchaser of the animal contacted me first...said he will send payment within the hour...Dustin kalp then emails saying that:

"Ok. Please let me know as soon as possible as there are 2 more I'm looking at. Hoping to buy something tonight or early am. Whenever people get back with me. "

I then tell him that i recieved paypal from the buyer. He then is upset and says:

"Of course. Thanks anyway"

I answered 5 emails from him in a timely manor, and i cant come up with anything shady? Good customer service is what i was thinking.

ohh yeah...i was 25,000' on a delta flight coming home from daytona, dealing with sketchy gogo internet service...so enough of the whining about it!
