    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I just wondering how long is a fair guarantee?? The reason I ask is at the Tinley park show I wholesaled some spiders to another vendor at the end of the show. Now five weeks later she is claiming one of the spiders has a head wobble. Am I being mean thinking it is just silly, five weeks later, to give her money back. If I was informed within a week it would be a different story, but five weeks is a bit much don't you agree?? I sold these spiders for a little more then half what they were being advertised at that time, and I have never had another one wobble it's head at all. BTW she sold the other two she picked up from me. One final note is she apparently left the snakes with someone else from the show and had them ship to her. She is now saying I am not taking care of her, and she will spread the word to others. Please let me know what everybody thinks. Bottom line, let me know if you think five weeks is to long a time to ask for a refund. Thanks for your time. Craig Kade

I am assuming you never had any issues with the snake and that it was eating well while in your care? Had she contacted you at all prior to the 5 week mark about any issues with the snake?

I think 5 weeks is too long to expect you to guarantee an animal (way too long). When did she first contact you?

I think the longest I have seen a guarantee is about 14 days, which I feel would be a fair amount of time to determine if the snake was flawed.

I have heard of a head wobble in some spiders, but I do not know if they are born with it or if it developes with age? Anyone??

And she is threatening your reputation? After this length of time that is like extortion IMHO. :NoNo:

It was a wholesale deal.
There are NO guarentees with wholesale. Try to get a guarentee from any of the wholesalers out there. Not gonna happen. Plus, 5 weeks later?
Tell her forget about it.

Spiders are known for wobble heads and it does not affect them at all. Some have it and others don't. The offspring from one with a wobble head may not have it just like the offspring from one without it may end up with it. After 500 grams, almost all lose the wobble anyway.

The animal was perfect, I never saw any signs of wobble head, it ate great, it sat on display at the show for two days, never had any problems. She did not contact me until 11-13-06, and then she posted a thread on k/s saying Craig Kade contact me, like I am hard to find or something. I agree 14 days is more then enough, I just wanted to see what everyone else thought. The snake is still eating. Thanks. Craig

If it's who I think it is she had a spider posted on KS at 550. Didn't mention a head wobble in the ad though.

If that is the case Craig then I think she is way out of line. There is no way you are responsible for the snake after 5 weeks. It is one thing if she had contacted you early on with concerns and was just continuing communications, but not if she is contacting you for the first time 5 weeks after the fact.

And then to try and use, as Casey very aptly put it, extortion to try and get her way is so very out of line. Humans never stop leaving me dumbfounded.

I did send her a link to this thread.
"If it's who I think it is she had a spider posted on KS at 550. Didn't mention a head wobble in the ad though." I did not see the ad, but I was told she also said she got it from a seller that did not care about his customers, which is far from the truth, ask anyone who has done bussiness with me, or check out posts about me on the BOI. I am actually tempted to post about her as a bad seller on the BOI, but I was hoping she would be the one to post. I really wish I could get a screenshot of the ad she posted, so I could see exactly what she posted.

Craig, the ad was up awhile back for about a day. It was a nice looking spider, worth more then the 550 asked for it IMO. This is of course if it was the same ad though I'm thinking it is since there aren't a lot of 550 spiders advertised.

One of the main reasons you get the wholesale price from me when I sell wholesale, is because as soon as the transaction is complete, that's it. No guarentee.

That's not to say that if I know the store or person I'm wholesaling to had a problem I wouldn't do anything about it, just that if I feel they are doing something wrong or just plain trying to get me to eat thier mistake, they are wrong in that thinking.

With no contact for 5 weeks it's absolutely rediculous to ask for anything back UNLESS this person purchases a signifigant number of animals from you REGULARLY and the business is worth taking a little loss over.

I would not refund anything at all were I you.

Thank you all very much for the responses, it appears they have a 24 hr guarantee on their website, but they feel that I should offer a five week guarantee. I thought that I was right in not taking the animal back, but just wanted to see if anyone else agreed. I am pretty sure they have the spider up in an ad right now, and do not mention the head wobble. Thanks again. Craig Kade

I just checked, and this person did log in this afternoon, and they do not do that often, so I am pretty sure they have seen this, maybe they will comment and explain why I should refund them. Craig Kade

Craig five weeks is a little overkill especially with the quality of animals you offer and the way you keep your collection, its top notch five weeks is a bit much to ask wholesale or not. take care Brad

Wild Bill Thinks

maybe the lady cant sell the animal ands trying to get money back on it? she should have assumed that there was no guarantee if it wasn't discussed at the time of purchase. i you wanted to be cool about taking the animal back a week or two later would have been more than fair but 5 weeks later. the animal could have become sick during the time she kept it. the price of the animal has Prolly dropped over five weeks and now you'd have to find another buyer. spiders are known to wobble so she should have more carefully examined the snake for that reason. i say let her talk anyone thats dealt with Craig knows better.
