    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Thinking of buying some snakes, any info would be appreciated..
-Matt

I have seen many ads from hime, but haven't heard anything as of yet. I am in the cities on a regular basis if you need me to check something out for ya. ;)

Awsome! Thanks for that Bill.. I am still pondering on a few things and trying to persuade the ol lady to let me have some money..lol

I haven't done any business with him, but have spoken to him. He seemed very knowledgeable, and have heard he's a decent guy to deal with from a couple of others.....that's all I can tell ya.

Oh, and he probed a corn I bought correctly (before I bought her), lol.

Bruce has been in this business for a long time. I've visited his store for the first time nearly twenty years ago (when they were in a different location in Minneapolis). I've purchased from Bruce several times in the past. It's a "must stop" for me everythime I'm in the Twin Cities. He is a good person to deal with. Same here if there's anything you need I'm going to stop by around Thansgiving.

Regards.

I've been to Bruce's store (Twin Cities Reptiles) many, many times. Bought some snakes, feeders, rat chow, cage furniture, you name it. Bruce is a good guy - he'll be upfront with you on all his animals, just ask. He's been in business a long time, and you don't get to stay around in a specialty retail store without a whole lot of work!

I go there pretty often and I agree with the previous post... :)
Usually it's just to buy feeders or supplies, but there are some snakes there that I wouldn't mind owning if I had the room and money.

Anyone have directions to his store? I would like to stop by and check it out?

It's on University Avenue almost in the corner with Raymond St.

Regards.

I have spent alot of money at Twin city reptile. Mostly on feeders and supplies but never had a bad experience. Bruce definately knows his stuff, and has a rep for being honest as well.

Bruce has been selling reptiles in Mn for 28 years+.He is a great person and even a better friend.You can trust Bruce 100%.I have bought MANY reptiles from him all were great.

Bruce is a good dude. Ive done several deals and all went well. Bruce has also bought from me and worked trade deals with no problems. We also hang out at out of town shows if we are both there. I recommend him and Im sure you'll be happy with you purchase. Joe Dembinski (Dembinski Reptile's, LLC)

I feel that I absolutely have to post this as I am utterly astounded and amazed at what a selfless person Bruce is (and Sara). I am very thankful for his willingness to help me out despite never having seen or spoken to me at any point in life before this, and my never having done business with him before (although that shall change in the near future). I only knew of him through seeing his ads online and hearing of him on forums.

I called Bruce pretty much out of nowhere Saturday evening at the Tinley Park show, using the number he had in one of his ads. I introduced myself, explained that I'm sure he had no idea who I was but I was taking the chance that he might be willing to help me out. I asked if he happened to be coming through Madison on his return trip to Minneapolis...he said he would be, so I threw a very random question at him -- if he could in any way transport an animal that I had purchased and perhaps the 2 racks I had also bought with him for me to meet and pick up from him. I explained that my daughter had been very sick all week with a high fever and then had basically been put through hell at Urgent Care the night before I was supposed to leave for the show, leaving me too worried and concerned for her health and needs to have the courage to leave her with family and make the drive down there. But this left me with a huge problem -- I would be unable to pick up the items I had already paid for. Bruce said he could absolutely transport my snake, but needed to see if he had room before promising on the racks. I was so relieved! Then today (Sunday) he went to both Alex Hue's table and Animal Plastics' table to discuss this with them and work out the details of bringing my things with him. He then called this evening to let me know he was on his way, but we ran into the problem that he would be getting into the area very late and I couldn't leave to come meet him as it would be too late to have anyone watch my daughter -- nor could I fit the rack pieces in my Kia hatchback as they were bigger than I had anticipated. Bruce didn't hesitate before saying he could come drive them out to my house despite it being 30-40 minutes out of his way, I just had to tell him where to go. I gave them directions, and they arrived here at 12:45am after a very long drive. He and Sara helped me carry everything in, and even sat down to talk snakes with me for half an hour before getting back on the road. I offered him compensation for his time and gas, but he refused more than half of it -- and told me that I had to take it back or he'd get mad. :)

To me, this is a really generous thing that Bruce did for someone he didn't know -- and without his help, I would have had to have my animal shipped (risky now that it's chilly up here -- even moreso as it's a higher-priced animal) and pay about $200 to have my racks shipped. What he did for me let me know that there are still good people out there and gives me one more reason to appreciate our community -- how something as silly as a reptile hobby can bring complete strangers together and make them willing to help each other when needed. Thank you so much Bruce, and you are DEFINITELY one of the Good Guys. :thumbsup:

Jen,

This comes to no surprise. I've known Bruce for years and currently have some of my breeders on a breeding loan with him. He is one of the most trustworthy individuals in our hobby. I hope your daughter gets better soon.

Best regards,

Dan
