    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Steve we had the years ago
    They like chicks ,rat pinks ,night crawlers - canned food makes the stool very loose and smelly. Heart gizzard liver are all good organ meat - I think you need some hairy prey to keep stool firm. We also fed some frui strawberry ,kiwi ,watermelon any sweet fruit. Not a lot but good for variety
    Glad to hear he’s doing well

    Hi,

    I bought a Peitri, from you guys about a year ago, a black roughneck monitor. He is doing seemingly well. I am in the process of building him a custom enclosure, could use some help on information about sliding glass doors.
    But the real reason I am emailing you is because I am concerned about what I am feeding him and how often I am feeding him. Right now he gets mostly furry rodents, hoppers to small mice, and 1/2 an egg about once a week. The more research i do about monitors in general the more I am learning that furry rodents is not such a good thing for them. Now keep in mind I live in Indiana, a land lock state far from any ocean. So things like live squid, mollusks or even live shrimp are impossible for me to find. I tried to feed him tuna once, he ate it one time thinking it was a mouse and then stopped. He did stopped eating crickets shortly after i got him, but I am thinking I will try again since it has been awhile.
    I need to know what else can i feed him? Beef heart? Turkey? What type of fresh fish? Should I start ordering roaches? (my landlord would detest that but fuck em, thats what they get for making me sign a lease that says pest control inside the apartment is my expense). What else can i start offering that I am not thinking about? I also need help on how to create my own wall structures that he can climb on, like shelves that are self support and strong.

    Thank You,
    Steve
    Your probably having problems because 1 monitors do not belong in aquariums. Too hard to get humidity and basking temps and ambient temps correct. Also 102 degrees is way to high for ambient temps. This is more than likely the reason for not eating. And the reason for hiding so much is because he trying to cool off from being slowly cooked.
    Jay, For the past week, I tried emailing, texting and calling the store several times (954-427-2938) and left my # with 2 of your staff re: the Waxy Monkey after we spoke on the day it arrived 2/14. May I please get a call back? thanks, alan 408-421-0384
    Hi Stephen, We just tried to give you a call. We would like to go over your setup with you. I (Jay) will be here until 8pm eastern time. Our number is 954 427 2938, it was also left on your voicemail.
    Thank you
    Hey I am the guy that bought the roughneck monitor from you about two months ago. When I first got him he was eating just fine, two to thee pinkie mice a day, 50 crickets a week. These past two weeks he has stopped eating. He won't even touch the crickets in his cage, and won't eat any pinkie mice anymore. I don't have a lot of crazy options for food because I don't live by the ocean so live squid, octopus, and shrimp are out of the question. His behavior still seems the same though, his tail is still nice and fat. He will come out of his hiding spot while I am at work and tear up his cage. But there are some days where he will sleep under his log for 24 to 36 hours at a time. I don't know a lot about this type of monitor, is this normal behavior? His cage is a 75 gallon glass aquarium, with plantation soil, a monsoon mister sprays for 30 secs every hour, and when I get home from work his temp is 102 degrees. There are two HB heat bulbs, 150 watts each, at night there are two 100 watt red heat lamps, and also a 24 inch uvb bulb. How long do I wait before I start to worry, how long do I wait until I start to force feed him? How do you recommend I force feed him? What other food items do you recommend? I will also be calling you from work tomorrow after noon. PLEASE CLEAR YOUR VOICEMAIL.
