    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    i love super hero movies too :D but i also wanted to see Thor to see how close they made it to Norse mythology (which i fricken LOVE!) so it was a "must see" because it IS a super hero movie, but its also a movie about one of my favorite mythological gods.

    i feel EXACTLY the same with your statement there. CGI apes were just so they could make it in "3D" at least that's how i feel. you really could have don't what LOTR did with Gollum and make the movements smooth, and have the human feel to it. but nope... had to go 100% full CGI on the fricken apes. :/

    Transformers.... hmm..... i loved the cartoon growing up. i loved the transformer toys (still have many of them :$) the first movie was a bit of a let down. it felt too pretty, too flashy if you will. the second one was far better. they took the darker side and implemented it a little more into it (+ Ive always loved Optimus, and he was just a BAMF in this movie) id watch the first one, if it catches your interest even a little bit, then you should watch the second. (and i agree, they need a more diverse cast. the only non "pretty boy/girl" actor in them is John Turturro.

    have you seen the in depth trailer for it? the teaser makes it look really good. the long trailer makes it look like a war of the worlds/skyline type movie with a western backdrop. so its going to be a hit or miss for me as well. (skyline was the worst movie Ive seen in a long time. its almost tied with "9")

    you're not a LOTR nerd like i is though abbehwabbeh :p id love to go to the midnight preview and sit in those comfy leather chairs and watch the most epic story be brought back to the big screen for 5 hours. only need a 20 min break for peeing and to get refills on mah ice, maybe get a another pretzel... heaven! :DD

    just watch the newer Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey and Jude law, its a continuation of that one. (thats just for story, if you dont know the character, then you need to read more :p) Captain America is the start of The Avengers, so youd need to see Thor, the Iron Mans' The Incredible Hulk, etc so you can track the progress that The Avengers is going to most likely going to start at. the new transformers actually looks better then all the others. looks like they went for the darker side to it like its supposed to be. (and they got rid of megan fox... thank GOD! lol) Rise of the Planet of the Apes looks kinda silly to me, dont know why though. and Cowboys and Aliens is possibly going to be the most unique movie this year. so i wanna see it just for that. and OMG I KNOW! buuuut. sad news.... its going to be all twilighted :/ its in 2 parts. like... really? >_< just make an epic 5 hour movie! :D thats what *I'd* want as a die-hard LOTR nerd. why would i wanna stop half way? makes no sense :p give a 20 min intermission between both parts for peeing, then im goooood! :DDDD

    lots! :DDD The Green Lantern is on the 17th, then the new Transformers on the first (looks to be the best yet, the trailer gives me goosebumps every time i watch it. use my epic bass and turn my speakers on high, full surround sound with that trailer is just.... wow... its amazing. then the last Harry potter, Captain America, Cowboys and Aliens, Rise of the planet of the Apes, and Sherlock Holmes to round out this year.

    Thor... Thor was better then i thought it would be, but worse then i hoped it would be. sadly, Odin has a rather small roll. this newest pirates, is a rather good movie. look at it as a stand-alone, rather then the 4th movie.

    the x-men movie was rather slow for me. it was almost like 90% of it was slow, getting to know the characters, then 10% was them actually being the "first class" either way, id recommend all 3. at least watch em once ;)

    Yep. :p complete other end of you. Ive seen thor like 3 times, watching pirates for the second, fast five ive seen twice, have first class ready to be seen for a second time. Im rollin :D
